You don't need the Bible on this one. Skin color does not determine race, period.

Not a race, no, but an ethnicity, yes. Of course being dispersed throughout the world, we've mixed in with pretty much every other people on the planet.

Why do you ask?
Why don't you ask "Are Hungarians a race?"

sometimes what is not said is more powerful than what is said. i haven't seen the word 'race' in either Hebrew or Greek in the Holy Scriptures except for the one someone runs in.
the concept of goyim is there, where even Yisrael is spoken of as a 'goy' or "a people". that is not the same thing as the Hellenistically defined 'race'.
it is obvious to the most casual observer that God is not interested in our western thoughts about 'race' if you read His book. Does not He say:
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.

look at the bondage that comes from not getting your head screwed on straight

funky marine joke coming on...(they make leathernecks to keep the jarheads on)

Ethnicity, yes. Race, debatable. After all, a black Dominican and white Argentinean are put together as part of the "Latino race" in our culture.

I'd say they are an ethnic group primarily defined by a common religious legacy, language, ancestry, culture, and to a lesser extent, geography.

The word 'race' has been very warped over the last few decades, usually in the context of racism. A hatred of the French, for example, is not 'racist' since there is no 'race' of French people. The French are an ethnic group, defined by their common geography, language, ancestry, etc.

Still, it's common for such bigotry to casually be referred to as 'racism,' even though there is no French 'race.' It is certainly a bigotry.

So no, there is no Jewish 'race,' I think, just as their is no French race, Italian Race, Catholic Race, etc.
