To file in hte this is a wierd world folder -

I'm home from work today because of a bad flare up of the fibro. Four people came out today - two sets of mother daughters to look at the horses. They were cloming to look at Classy in particular, she's coming two. Well, two on Friday as a matter of fact.

One girl, college age and her mother were looking for a horse for her to use as a hunter. Why would you go look at a barely two year old for that? The other, the mother wanted a riding horse, she had ridden years ago. Same question, why look at a two year old?

Here is the oddity, both were interested in Speed, my new little filly. I gave them her pedigree, explained as clearly as possible - 1) she would not be a good trail horse, will grow up like her mom. Needs a job, will be able to spin out from under you in a heart beat, etc. 2) she will not be a jumper, she will be like her mom - maybe 15h tops, etc. etc.

Neither interested in the mare due to foal who would make a good jumper, by size and build and temperment, or the mare Bob is currently riding trail and endurance.

Anyway, didn't sell a horse. The one did call me back and say she could probably buy the two year old if she were only a $1000. I assured her that she would eventually find one at that price. One better suited to her also I was sure.

That does sound strange, maybe it was really the price of the two year old they were interested in, rather than the older mare. It was good of you to explain what you did. We are selling Misty (trail horse), Lightning (green broke) and the two foals as soon as we can, as we are getting ready to move and just don't have the time for them all. We want to downsize and I am most comfortable with Sugar and Smokey. We will be honest when we sell though and let the buyer know that Misty has not been rode anywhere near as much as she should, Lightning is eager to please, but as a stalion (maybe gelded soon) needs a more experienced rider and obviously the colts are just begiining. We are selling them all for $1500. I am sure there is a buyer out there somewhere that would be interested. : )

Heh - people are nutty and many are no judge of horses ;~D

I've had to talk people out of my pony who just saw her in the pasture and thought she'd be fun for the kids.
