This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

He did get a shot IV, in his neck on Friday. The vet thinks he's probably just a little congested still. Kind of like laying on your back when you have a cold.
The Kentucky Horse Park is a wonderful place. When i was there I got to meet Cigar.

What are you doing up so late:') ?
It's only about 9:30pm here - I'm just watching the mare and it's easier to stay up as late as I can instead of getting up every hour. If I stay up until 11-12 then I only have to get up four or five times :)

No - nothing wrong. I've been expecting the baby for a week now. I want to be there when it's born. I always want to be on hand for the foaling, but this mare is my baby, I helped her into the world :)
Didn't you just have a baby? A blue eyed one?
Yes, a colt born March 6th with one partially blue eye. Then the one due now, then two more due in May - a mare of ours and my DIL's mare are both in foal bred to our stud. So those will be all night watches too :) - anxious to see his first babies.

I got Belle moved to Harleys run yesterday, so that I will be able to sleep in the stall to watch her:). I will probably move to the barn May 1.

South East of Lexington is where we are staying for our second week this summer, we have booked an original cabin an 40 private acres! The first week we are going back to the tomthallcabin as we havent found anything that lives up to it yet!~ It has its own private pond, teeming with fish!
Well Our morning has been interesting..........you know i thought that I couldnt have latched the gate properly the other day when the horses got out............well it seems that either Thunder or Adge takes after their Dad, cause one of them has figured out how to undo the latch!` So we was rounding up galloping foals this morning! Fun, especially as its been raining and slick as anything out there! All's well now and they don't have access to that gate now!
I want to go back to bed now!~

I have a question that I'm sorry to say has nothing to do with horses, in the summer, as we will be looking at real estate, I want to be able to access the internet when we are away. I have been thinking about getting a laptop for a while , and DELL has some interesting offers at the moment. Has anyone got one and can offer advice? I mainly want it to upload photos from my digital camera, work on my book and access the internet.
