This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Markie's flight has arrived safe at home in Ohio!
That's great, I thought I heard a sigh of relief:)
Becky
I thought you'd appreciate the rocks ;~D
OK, I didn't think you were in Arizona.
Becky
They really are neat the way they used them around the house. Very nice.
Becky
Glad to hear Markie's back safe and sound. I can't get into the pictures though - I'll try again later.
Sorry about that... is it just loading too slow for you? It's fine here.
No - it's my dialup, I'll be able to get in once I reboot I think - just waiting until I finish checking my mail.
You're a better man than me - I closed my eyes going across Hoover Dam, I really hate heights and narrow roads and winding roads - well, you get the picture.
That's the greenest I've ever seen Arizona, :) someone is going to see pictures of this spring there and go rushing to move there, and then be surprised it's a desert. Nevada is really green this spring too, due to the wet winter.
The Prescott fire must have burned through like an inferno to leave trees still standing. That is so terrifying to watch.
Heh... I would have had to put the camera down to end up with it pointed at me ;~D
It was a good trip, and nice to see Arizona at this time of year on such a bonus year especially.
I just got back. I could only see shadows in the moonlight in the pasture. I called him and thought I saw him but then I saw something else white. A white horse came up and then I saw Okie. As my eyes adjusted I noticed a red horse and the COW had come to me also:')
Nice pictures. Glad everything worked out for yall and you were able to go.
I though Okie just being a baby and wanting me to hold his feed bucket up but I've noticed that not only will he not eat on the ground but he will start to eat grass and then raise his head up. Any idea why he's doing this? Maybe just sore or something?
Boy I don't know - maybe he has swollen glands that hurt with his head down? I can't think of why he would behave like that but perhaps it's uncomfortable with his head down.
Maybe I'm just looking for stuff. He's so much better. I just thought it strange.
Here's my mom now...
We're home. She was 'lost' in the airport for @ 20 mins. We went to baggage claim and waited. And waited. When no one else was showing up from the plane, I asked a security guard where else she could be. He said that since she had no bags to claim, she wouldn't even have to be there, she'd be upstairs. So, we all went upstairs to the gates. NO Markie. Asked the guy at SW desk, he ended paging her. NO answer.
While Kelsi and I were starting to panic, thinking she got snatched, Mark took a stroll through the terminal.
He found her! LOL....seems we passed each other on the escalators.
I'm whupped...and beat up from the ride.('killed' my ribs riding in the car)
Aww gee, Becky. DON'T apologize fer talking about your horse while Markie was 'up there'. Heck, it kept me 'preoccupied' and from going into full-blown stress out, to read about your guy.(and to learn stuff)
Could it possibly be his teeth?
I don't know - unless maybe some kind of infection (like sinus in people) that causes pressure or pain with his head down. I have to admit I've never seen this.
