This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I saw a paint job on a wall done that way, where they did stripes.

ecurbh is Mr.Busy today, running errands. I am feeling lazier, though I did clean stalls!

We have to run up to the beach house and switch trucks in a bit... after I find something for lunch and a shower.

Good afternoon all. I took my horse to church today. There was good fiddling, great barbecue, vast shady trees and a good sermon.

Sarah Lee was fussy about getting wet yesterday too. It didn't do her any good but she did voice her opinion. Silly horse. She didn't want anything else wet but her face. She expects me to wash out her nostrils each time now. I guess it feels good.

Thanks. Glad things are getting better for you. Eddie and I looked at some propery yesterday and both turned our noses up. We have decided we probably aren't going to find what we want around here. I found some beautiful places further north but they are expensive. All I want is trees. Lot's of pecan trees:')
We did decide that we are going to put a cabin in at the lake and rent it out 3 out of 4 weeks to hunters and fisherman so maybe it will pay for itself. We still have to put a septic in so we will work on that this summer. If we are happy with our cabin work then we will probably build a custom one later, elsewhere. If , no when we find what we want the house will be last though. Fence and barn first. We can live in a camper for awhile.

We moved Lacey and her dam, BamBam out to the paddocks today, getting ready for Eygpt to come into the barn. Thought I'd post some pictures of her, she is growing like a weed.

Aw what a sweet foal. She is going to be a good one. Put together very nice. I went to the horse show today, to see my daughter and granddaughter show. I had done so much yard work yesterday and finished up a little today. I said the heck with it, I need a break. I took a few pics also. It's hard to get good snaps with the rail in the way. I used my zoom when my daughter rode, but some were blury. Kids in leadline all get a prize. My daughter won Adult horsmanship and took second in Adult pleasure. The horse is a 16 yo Quarter, that my daughter leased.

I don't know if you will take it as a compliment or insult but my granddaughter thinks BAmBam is Sarah Lee and of course Lacie hers and we can go riding together. It's like she knows when baby pictures up and comes running.

Thanks, I'm really pleased with her. She's the first foal we have off of our stallion - guess we'll hold off gelding him for awhile :)
