This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!

I hope to post the live thread tomorrow, if I'm not beat to the starting gate. I had a lot of fun posting the triple crown races the last couple years.
But I haven't even looked into who's running or who to hope for yet.
Good. You could buy my place in SC for that. Maybe you should forget Florida and look to other areas of the country. There are great deals in Tennessee to be had as well as other parts of the country.
I will definitely watch the race.
Of course not!
Fabulous. That's exactly what I was gonna look for.
hehehehe...
There is a catch.
The house belongs to my mom, regardless of whether or not I pay the mortgage.
When she sells, I do not believe she feels I deserve a penny of the profit since I would be paying the same or more if I were renting anywhere else.
Do you and your mom get along well? If so, maybe she could sell and you could both move together somewhere further north, and give your children a more rural life.: )
Like cowboyway says, that kind of money will buy a lot more elsewhere. : )
Good morning,
Love the pink :)
Good afternoon (here), any foal? Signs?
I had my hair permed today as a mothers day present from James and the children : ) It's short, curly and wild! LOL I love it!
No babies yet :)
Ouch.
My mom and I do get along well, but she is set in her ways and considers herself "too old" to uproot and go somewhere else.
(She's 52 forcryingoutloud!)
She's great at guilt trips. *grin*
That is a shame, cause it's a big ole world out there just waiting for her to explore!
52 is not old! It's perfect for finding that farm : )
If she dotes on the grandkids then maybe with a little pursuasion she might want to get them out of the rat race!
We live on 10 acres, have chickens, rabbits loads of dogs, cats, 6 horses and a million jobs still to finish. It is quite rural here, cotton fields all around, but I want to move to the mountains, hopefully TN or KY or even WV and buy at least 100 secluded acres and raise cattle : )
We are also homeschooling next year.
Cowboyway, are you the one with the fantastic log cabin? In other words my dream place?????
There goes the theory that Grandmas know everything!
Little Tony was staying with his grandmother for a few days. He'd been playing outside with the other kids for a while when he came into the house and asked her, "Grandma, what is that called when people are sleeping on top of each other?"
She was a little taken aback, but decided to tell him the truth...
"It's called sexual intercourse, darling."
Little Tony just said, "Oh, OK" and went back outside to talk and play with the other kids.
A few minutes later he came back in and said angrily, "Grandma, it is not called sexual intercourse! It's called Bunk Beds!"
Becky
:')
Where's the picture of your new hair do?
