This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
I enjoy her posts. She can start thinking of a name for my new baby when he comes tonight. I'll have to post the pedigree when I get home. What is she reading (I work in a library)
Regarding the color enhancing shampoos - some of them work great. All our horses get bathed with them and/or whitening shampoos before shows. My DIL's mare's tail looks like silver threads when she's done.
I taught her well, didn't I?
She is reading
A series of Unfortunate events by Lemony Snicket. They are a bit easy for her, but she has just watched the film and enjoyed it.
She loves the Harry Potter series and has read them all, and she enjoyed the teenagers Left Behind series.
If I worked in a Library i wouldnt ever get anything done at work or at home! LOL Reading is one of my favorite passions and I have only recently been able to enjoy books again.
LOL! As long as she doesn't run for chairman of the Republican party whilst living at home, I don't mind! : )
Oh wow that is a lovely mare
That obvious, huh? I wish they would let him back on, he has such a unique sense of humor.
Oh it wasn't blatantly obvious, but your exchanges were amusing.
LOL from your posts to each other, I thought you two might be married........ : D
BAck from my ride with Tina. No mishaps while I was with her. She did say tho that he was acting freaky while she was saddleing him. She said they could here the neighbor boy talking, that he is a mean kid, (I've never seen him), and now she wonders if that was what was spooking the horse and if the kid had been there when no one else was spooking the horse on purpuse. Seems far fetched to me, but you never know. I don't think she had him tied when she mounted tonight, she said he kept circleing her while she was trying Maybe she learned somethig last night.
I rode Rocky, figured Harley was tired from his afternoon work out.
Harley stood tied to the trailer today while I saddled him. I delibertly thumped around in it while getting out my saddle, didn't seem to bother him.
Becky
The kind I bought is called Quick Silver. It said it was good for palominos. I'll give it a try tomorrow probably.
Becky
It was at a field trial in Birmingham. He rode Walkers in the field trials and showed drafts. What a shame.
And she's a steal at $2500.00!
They're prolly selling her because property taxes have made most folks who have any kind of land forced to sell.
When I first moved to this part of Miami, there was nothing around but farms, u-picks and a few houses, two supermarkets, a drug store and 3 schools.
Now, there are maybe 10 square blocks of "horse country" left. And those houses cost half a million and up, just because they sit on an acre + of land.
Very sad.
"LOL from your posts to each other, I thought you two might be married........ : D"
yeah, we like yanking each other's chains. I'm sure he won't mind if I tell you this but he's married, has 2 beautiful kids (boy and girl)and his wife is really pretty. They have a lovely new home in a rural area outside of Fort Worth. I've been trying to get him to buy a horse but he ain't havin' any of it.
Shame, because I have some for sale! : )
Glad everything went ok Becky. When I am around all of our horses, i always make a lot of noise, the colts are used to tractors, kids, dogs, chickens, weed eater, and lots of clanging and banging, oh and noisy trucks! Sounds like bedlam around here doesnt it! LOL
I wish I had been there. I've been AWOL awhile but I would have vouched for you:')
