I hope I'm not of little faith, but my sense is that we are unlikely to totally avert anything in the next period. We may delay and we may lessen the severity and we may insure that more Believers are protected by our prayers. But especially given our strong arm tactics about splitting Israel up . . . we are really asking for it from God's perspective.
I just pray that this doesn't mean that the New Madrid fault will light off. One of the more reliable prophetic sources predicted a year or 3 ago that if and when we insisted on Israel giving up any covenant lands in any deal with the Arabs, that God would split our Nation at the New Madrid fault. I felt at the time, that that was a true word.

May my heart be ever ready, may my faith be securely in the One Who died for me. I also entrust to Him all those I hold dear to my heart that He will ensure their safety and their right standing before Him.
