I can't stand seeing kids running around in just about ANY public place! Drives me nuts. If it is a toy store or the toy aisle at Meijers, that's one thing. I was at Barnes and Noble last weekend and three little boys ran right into me--knocked me into a bookshelf, books all over--then they raced away. Not a parent in sight. A clerk was gracious enough to help me right myself and he picked up all the books--in some stores, that can be unusual.

Gotta go, I'm taking the pooch to the vet. Doesn't look like arthritis. Just damn.

My 10 year old son has gotten bad about running around in public places, and then he gets his sisters involved.

Of course, mom is around to stop the behavior. However, I have to keep a constant eye on them.

My 10 year old has gotten worse this year with being hyper, and I'm hoping he grows out of it soon.

I will say in his defense. He has been complaining about kids cussing at school. The Christian school he went to was bad in 2nd grade, and now the public school has gotten bad in 5th grade. I think I'm mentioning it to the principal.

That's another manners thing. I see kids cussing in front of their parents, and the parents do nothing except maybe cuss right back at them.

Would this be a situation where someone showed a bad example that their child followed?

5-Year-Old Arrested For Candy Outburst At School

POSTED: 12:52 pm EST March 18, 2005

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Florida school officials are apologizing for the arrest of a 5-year-old, whose tantrum landed her in the back of a police cruiser.

Officials said the girl threw books and boxes, kicked a teacher in the shins, smashed a candy dish, hit an assistant principal in the stomach and drew on the walls. She was upset when a teacher took away jelly beans she was counting in a math exercise at Fairmount Park Elementary School.

Minutes later, she was under arrest for battery. The 40-pound girl's hands were bound with plasic ties and her ankles in handcuffs.

A school superintendent said campus police should have been called. He said school officials "never want to have 5-year-old children arrested."

No charges were filed and the girl went home with her mother, who said her daughter will not return. In her words, "They set my baby up."

I hate to see packs of roaming teenagers wandering around the streets. They remind me of wild dogs!
