40th birthday plunges Keanu into depression
15/03/2005 - 07:22:43
Hollywood hunk Keanu Reeves found turning 40 so tough last year, he plummeted into a dark period of depression.
The Matrix star says the months since his birthday last September have been a time of reflection, which quickly escalated into morbid brooding about how many years he has left before he dies.
The Canadian actor says: "It was a nightmare. It reminded me of adolescence and it felt like an internal transformation with physical aspect, like when your hormones run wild.
"But this time with a conscious shift, an awareness of your own mortality."
Maybe if he wrote me a very large check he would feel better.

If Mr. Keanu Reeves is reading... Jesus Saves. Try God. :) Peace.
"Umm he lost a baby. Think thats worse than most people deal with"
Plus his sister (and best friend) is dying after a long fight with cancer.
It's never too late for him to plunge into acting lessons.
After all the smoking, drinking, heavy drugs and partying I did for 20+ years, NO WAY did I think I'd live this long.
I'm not depressed. I'm THANKFUL.
Ah, thank you. So he is an American citizen?
And, yep, God sure mixed up those ethnicities perfectly in him. :-)
Bill: Socrates; "The only true wisdom consists of knowing you know nothing".
Ted: That's us, dude.
I didn't know that. I really like Keanu. He is a real decent guy from what I have heard. So sad that happened to his daughter and girlfriend.
Eevn though his sister Kim couldnt be helped, maybe the funds will help with research for others.
They were cute kids, sad.
My 94 yr old widowed grandmother is obsessed with Keanu so that's why I know all this errata about him.
I'm not depressed. I'm THANKFUL.
Hear Hear!!...A man after my own heart!
Now if I could just get my prostate to behave...and one other little thing...

Keanu must have thought----"40 and I still don't know how to act.....why do they keep casting me in movies? When will this fraud be uncovered?"
LOL! I went to college in the early 70s. A few of my brain cells are missing as well. I'll say no more on that topic. : )
I was widowed in my 30s. Every now and then I look at the online ads. What really gets me is I'll see some guy's profile and see the music he likes, then look at his picture and wonder how that old guy likes the same stuff I do - then I check out his age and find out we're w/n 3 years of each other!
I've been told I don't look my age; I don't have crows feet or laugh lines and I try to keep the grey from showing. The guy pics are really disappointing because it seems that they don't even try to do something with themselves. Maybe you can't help the wrinkles, but an updated haircut and a trimmed 'stache go a long way, fellas.
same here ..it's amazing how little some people did to stay somewhat hip looking..I'll message you a website privately to check out.
Reeves just needs an attitude adjustment; in the long run, a hundred years from now, we are all dead anyway, so why fixate on it?
God saves and that is enough for anyone with a brain.
Yeah, Keanu, it really sucks to discover how finite and irrelevant each of us really is.
At their substandard grooming increases their chances of being heterosexuals.
That is pretty sad. I didn't know that.
However, I wasn't remotely upset at turning 40. But now, I'm only a couple of months away from having to describe myself as in my late 40's. That's not fun.
