Glenn Beck has apologized this morning to all of us that started watching '24' this season based on his recommendation.
He is also saying that he was about to give up on '24' last night because the witers interjected PATRIOTIC Arabs that own a gun store, and are proud to be American and stand with their American brothers to go up against whoever committed the terrorist acts.
WHAT A LINE OF PC CRAP!
I, for one, have not heard a single Arab-American stand up publicly and say that they denounce Islamic terrorism and are willing to stand up with their American brothers to fight this scourge on civilized society.
We've gone from a great reality based action drama that rips headlines from the papers, showing MOST terrorists as they actually are...
To a PC line of BS influenced by the usual suspects, liberal producer, directors, and studio execs, AND a TINY, loud-mouthe minority of bleaters and whiners.
A disgusting FRAUD-of-a-show.
AND, it LOOKS as if the show is turing AWAY from REALISTIC MUSLIM terrorists, to point to EVIL WHITE guys in the defense industry, and maybe even in the military itself.
What a JOKE.
I MAY watch another show or two, but I think I'm DONE after only ONE season of viewing this PC garbage.
You are of course aware, aren't you that half of Arab Americans are Christian.
"I, for one, have not heard a single Arab-American stand up publicly and say that they denounce Islamic terrorism and are willing to stand up with their American brothers to fight this scourge on civilized society."
This guy must live a very sheltered life and not know many Arab-Americans.
There is a problem that too few Muslims are willing to speak out against terrorism by fanatic Muslims. I can't deny that.
However, I know a number of Arab-Americans from work, and none of them are anti-American. I don't honestly know if they are Muslims or not.
The problem with too many Muslims being unwilling to speak out against terrorism is also not a strictly Arab problem either.
I agree...HOW many times can the same people be kidnapped, then escape. Kidnapped, then escape?
The only redeming quality of 24 is that there's actuallt 24 episodes in an era of shows with 13 first run episodes.
Anyone remember when shows started in September & ended in May? Now, you have shows STARTING in March, like The Shield, for God's sake.
Comments start about here...
You write: "I, for one, have not heard a single Arab-American stand up publicly and say that they denounce Islamic terrorism and are willing to stand up with their American brothers to fight this scourge on civilized society."
I am sorry you feel that way because I have met many pro-American Arabs, and I work with some. They are here because they wanted a better life for their families. To be fair I may not have a fair sampling, the Arabs I have met live in suburban USAworking professionals, kids in school/collegea very reasonable and well educated group. I have not come across the large, Arab activist groups that others describe living in Michigan and the East Coast.
I would disagree about the MSM.
I believe that it would be front page news if there was widespread US muslim support for the war on terror. They would be rubbing it in our noses.
Again, I remain receptive to information in any direction on this issue. Is the US muslim community afraid, indifferent or supportive of the Islamofascists? In four years, you would think that something would emerge.
My assumption. I was lumping muslim and Arab together. Although they were both middle-eastern, they didn't say what their ethnic background was.
They were arab but born and grew up here. No mention of being muslim. I think you are being unfair about the show. There are evil white, brown, black and other color people in the world. Hitler ans Stalin were both white guys FYI.
Rating (I hope) will go into the dirt.
AF Haircut.. Love it. When I was stationed at Kelly AFB, I found out that my buddy in the rangers was at Fort Sam for medic training. I went over to pay him a visit. I asked a Ranger First Shirt where my buddy could be found.
He looked me up and down about 3 times and said in a deep first shirt voice, "What the hell do you call that haircut son?" I thought for a moment and replied, "Why its an Air Force haircut First Sgt.!"
He groaned a painful groan and pointed to another building and walked away without another word.
I missed the last two. I have no idea what's going on. Sounds like it really took a turn for the worse.
Actually, I love the show. I watch it whether I agree with the plot line or not. Yes, I made a bad assumption. I'm sorry.
They're the same...they just don't speak arabic as their native tongue.
Well, I gues I better stop watching then because there is no way, no way on Earth that any White people would EVER consider working with Arab Terrorists against America. It just couldn't happen. Nope. Never. I mean, to even think that it could is the height of POlitical Correctness. And to even present the idea that any arab in this country would actually love this country to the point of helping protect it is so stupid as to defy all logic...
(In case you couldnt' tell, I'm being really sarcastic in response to your idiotic thread...)
Agreed. I had more of an issue with the Sutherland disclaimer a few episodes back that was there purely to pacify CAIR, the Arab-equivalent of the NAACP.
But ripping the show for showing patriotic Arabs? I didn't have a problem with that; it fit within the boundaries of plausability and it certainly didn't seem as though the show's writers were pandering to the idiots at CAIR. It seems that there are both good and bad Arab characters introduced so far in this season.
And finally, I personally tend to tune out people who over-use the CAPS-lock key. Reminds me too much of angry liberals who shout so often because they've got nothing to say...
It's a universal truth. As a bratty enlisted in the Navy, I often smirked, as I passed AF people on the base.
NO, they're NOT the same.
Hey! Check this out. You might want to double-check on that Sleeper Cell... errr I mean that Middle Eastern family that live a few doors down from you... Ya know, that couple raising their child and enjoying the American dream. Teey could be up to something... ;0)
