Oh gosh. It was so funny. They teased it for the first half of the show about how they had explosive information about one of the idol judges. A "blow the lid off" expose of sorts.
They did a CRIME TIME LIVE segment about how Simon has some sort of secret relationship and that the rest of the cast was upset about it.
They showed Randy recording a song about Simon, with Paula doing the mixing.
They had "exclusive" interviews with Ryan, some of the crew, Randy's parents (both played by Randy), a clothing store clerk etc.
They had cell phone calls with Simon saying sweet nothings into the phone and they showed clothing stores where Simon's love helped him buy clothes.
They interviewed Randy and asked him if he was just trying to sell a book. He said no, that this was something serious that people needed to know.
Then they were back in the recording studio with Paula on the soundboard and Randy singing. Then he opens his shirt to show another one that read "Buy MY Book".
It ended with Simon being seen talking lovingly to someone in his dressing room. As he's telling his love that he wants to take all their clothes off and love them, the camera enters the room and Simon is at the mirror talking to himself!
He chases the camera out and that's how the skit ends.
It was very well done and was of course to spoof the Primetime Live thing with Corey Clark!
It was quite clever.

lol!
Thanks for the summary! I have to see if they rebroadcast it on a cable channel somewhere.
This has been fun -- meeting everyone on the thread, poking fun at the contestants and judges and generally being nutso together.
KNow when the next season starts? The 1st 3 weeks are far and away the best (when you ask yourself "don't they have a camcorder to see/hear themselves"?)
