The Fox station in Boston reports that Carrie will sing "Independence Day" (yet, again-- to my great disappointment) Not again? Repeats?

Agree. That srticle sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me.
Both Bo and Carrie have good careers ahead of them. Both sing well, and present the youthful joyousness that music should embrace, regardless of genre.
I would like to see a tie, but I thnk that is virtually impossible, as far as viewers' votes go.

I think she will relax and be comfortable in the recording studio. I just wish that she would pick better songs. At least they don't all sound the same and have the same tempo.

The show is about amateurs. I pointed that out early on. Long time wannabees wouldn't even be in the running if they hadn't increased the age limit.

The show is about amateurs. I pointed that out early on And I asked you if AI contestants are somehow
impure if they ever accepted money for singing.

Bo Bice, 29, of Helena, Alabama, has opened for Warrant and Blackfoot and performed and recorded with Jonny Neal of the Allman Brothers.

It is not like Bo has ever had a real record deal. Bo Bice, 29, of Helena, Alabama, has opened for Warrant and Blackfoot and performed and recorded with Jonny Neal of the Allman Brothers.
Sure looks like he has.

Fantasia will be a tough act to beat in that category. You got that right! I didn't watch the season with Clay or Reuben so I can't say that I have heard enough of Reuben to say how his voice is.
I looked at the AI CD yesterday in the store. I wanted to get Diana DeGarmo's but didn't see it. Guess I'll have to order that one online. I think all in all that she is better than Carrie at the moment, but I think they can work with Carrie. She doesn't seem to be stuck in a one genre mode.

No, the actual AI meaning is that they aren't under contract at this moment. He's talking about the spirit of the word amateur, not AI's technical definition.

The Stones have become a cultural religion. You're saying Bo's career path will mimic the Stones'?

A report from a girl who watched the rehearsals for Wednesday night's finale (misspellings and all):
Mikalah and Lindsay sing "Every Time I Close My Eyes" with Babyface. I got to see a video of their rehearsal and it's so good. I freakin' love Babyface so that made my day. Mikalah sounded really nice. I didn't get to hear Lindsay sing because my friend only recorded Mikalah and Babyface singing w/her digicam. Kenny G plays the sax for Anwar and Anthony when they sing "I Believe I Can Fly."
Con, Jessica and Nadia sing "Walk This Way" and my friend isn't sure but she said she THINKS they sing while the guitarist from Aerosmith plays.
Lynard Skynard is there and they all sing "Sweet Home Alabama"...I don't know if maybe just Bo was supposed to sing this but she said he wasn't out there at all yesterday. She doesn't know if he's sick or what but he didn't rehearse.
Scott and Nikko sing "On Broadway"...she said with George Benson.
Vonzell sings "Born Again"?...with the original singer. ed. note: could this be Billy Preston?
Carrie sings "God Bless This Broken Road" with Rascall Flatts.

And Carrie has opened for Diamond Rio...
Neither she or Bo are true greenhorns, but neither are full-fledged professionals either.
Am Idol has researched all this and they passed the tests, maybe you should let it go ??
