The problem with that movie is that Kelly and Justin weren't an item and that it was a dorky beach movie like the ones with Annette Funicello. The concept, itself, wasn't bad at all. They could execute it with Carrie and Anthony if they did it right. Make the singing a natural part of the story-- like in "Duets." Make it a romantic comedy. Then you'll have a great movie and lots of cash from the big box office. Then, imagine the money from the movie soundtrack!

Lots of good stuff in your post.

Have to agree with others that the AI show last night stunk.

I liked Scooter Girl. I also liked Opera Girl from this year's auditions. But their singing style wasn't fitting for this kind of competition, especially Opera Girl. Simon can't stand Britney Spears. He's not looking for a pop tart, but a pop star.

I didn't see enough of scooter girl to make a decision on her but I do agree with you and others about Opera girl. I would liked to ahve seen what if anything she could have done with various songs.

From TV Guide. They're "palling around" (looks like a candid photo from a date the two of them are on at the movies to me)...

Also from TV Guide. I barely recognized her. She doesn't look so much like the hick from Oklahoma.

You're right. You have to look close at the face to recognize her.

You are absolutely right. I love that animation. It's very sweet. They make a very cute couple.

From those other sources you posted, it sure sounds like this is definitely a romance, not just a flirty thing.

I'm not sure what I think of "Anthy Bear" though!

I read your other post about the potential for a movie with Carrie and Anthony. That might work, since there is obvious chemistry between them. Justin and Kelly just looked silly together. No, I did not see the movie, but I did see the previews.

BTW, I'm almost positive that that great big watch Carrie had on this week belonged to Anthony. I saw a picture of that watch on Anthony somewhere, maybe on one of the Idol sites. The only reason I noticed it was because of the unusual shape of the face.

I would never have recognized her from that picture. It's a nice picture though.

Both Carrie and Bo are wearing a version of it. Maybe all of the Top 4 got one, if you saw Anthony wearing one.

From next week's Insider Magazine, which details how Bo, Carrie, and Anthony have a clique...

Following around 5 hyper American Idol contestants for a week not only tires you out but leaves you with the chore of searching through hours of behind the scenes antics. Of course not everything could be included in the TV Guide exclusive so here's just a little bit more to give American Idol fans a better look beyond the cameras.

...

--Carrie and Anthony curled together on a sofa in a backstage dressing room, singing softly to each other and then asking, "Was that off? Was I pitchy?" Then breaking into hysterical giggles.

Ah, that must be it. They must all have one. Darn it, I liked my theory better. :-)

That is so cute. I just love this stuff.

Oh, and here's a ridiculous factoid about Carrie I just learned. She placed third in the 2004 Miss Northeastern University pageant in Tahlequah, OK. Those two girls must feel pretty good about themselves right about now, managing to defeat someone of her talent and beauty in a pageant.

Same here! If I didn't know that was a pic of Carrie, I'd think I was looking at Natasha Henstridge.

Yep, Carrie's pretty enough to be a different "Species"
but she seems way too nice to be that evil!
Then again, the alien in "Species" wasn't exactly evil, was she?
After all, she just wanted to perpetuate. What's an alien in heat supposed to do?

At least Alfred Molina died smiling.

Also from the same article...

Just spending two hours in a relaxed setting with the remaining Idols, you can see that where you find Bo, you'll most likely find Anthony, and where you find Anthony, you'll be sure to find Carrie.
So, basicly, Anthony and Carrie were literally inseparable during the time the two of them were on the show.

Yep, Carrie's out of this woild for real.
Remember her very first audition, singing
Kenny Rodgers' "I Can't Make You Love Me" a capella?
Wow.

It'll be so fun to see who actually wins.
They're both so good, and so different.

Carrie's mom apparently got upset when Anthony was voted off, based on this story from Entertainment Tonight. Who knows if it's because she saw Carrie cry or because she knows of the special relationship Carrie and Anthony have and was sad for Carrie or some other reason. It was just interesting that she didn't mention crying about anyone else getting voted off.
It is such a close call that Bo's mother NANCY DOWNES and grandmother MADGE SCHOFIELD and Carrie's mom CAROLE UNDERWOOD drop by the ET (Entertainment Tonight) set to encourage fans to make sure and vote.

"I want them all to do well," Carole tells MARK STEINES. "If they hit a wrong note -- I can't sing, but I can hear it. When ANTHONY got voted off, I cried. It is such an emotional thing now."

I pinged you because you all posted on the AI thread during Bo's version of "Within a Dream." I think part of the value of this was the shock value and that people thought this was a big risk he decided to take the week before the competition, but I told my wife that I was positive that he'd done it before and that Bo was certain that it would go over well and that it really wasn't risky at all, therefore, since he knew what the reaction would be. Turns out I was right. I bet he also performed it at some of his gigs, too.

Here's more info on it, from Entertainment Tonight, FYI...

As for Bo's a cappella performance of "Within a Dream," which according to SIMON COWELL took the competition to a higher level, Nancy says, "He actually sang it at our oldest daughter's wedding and there wasn't a dry eye there. So when he told me he was going to sing it, I said, 'Okay, this is going to reach some of the people like it did us, but there are going to be some who are not happy not having music behind him.' I thought it was just awesome."
