We come here twice a week for a couple of hours. That leaves us plenty of time for important stuff. Some times we need to take a break from all things serious.

But a lot of the serious threads with serious issues get minimal exposure because of the lack of participation while the silly threads get all the attention.

The serious topics DO get attention, but they are in news and NOT in chat! I have seen people that post to this thread in more important threads in the news category. Better to relax here in chat and go to sleep after a good laugh, than to get all upset over illegal migration and try to sleep while all tense.

That is not true. For one thing, this thread is covering the entire season, not just one night. It has been ongoing.

Secondly, I spend plenty of time on the other threads. I have over 10,000 posts.

I'm just not a stuffy old stick in the mud like you appear to be.

Learn to laugh or something.

But not here.

This thread is not for amateurs. It's for serious professionals only.

...while the silly threads get all the attention.

Whaddya mean "get all the attention"? No offense to silent_jonny, but there are not that many regular posters to this thread, as a percentage of all Freepers. If you page through the posts, you'll see the same names over and over again. You want to see threads that got a lot of attention, see the Buckhead threads!

(and s_j, I thank you again for being the host with the most!)

I linked the other pics instead of posting them because I didn't want to clog anybody's bandwidth.

That's always a good idea, besides, each link will load faster and if all of the images are on one link it could take forever and some will opt out and not wait for them to load.

I've seen Anna Nicole's pics too. I'm sure they are airbrushed in spots, but supposedly she really did lose that weight.

You're still here? Isn't there some "serious" thread that needs your attention?

I think that the difference in the levels of performance between Carrie/Bo and Vonzell should indicate her leaving on that jet plane next week. That AOL poll has been very wrong before, but I don't think it's wrong at this point.

Very true. Idol is a good break from the serious fears and evils facing us. On Idol, my biggest fear is a young farm girl named Carrie getting voted off. In 2008, this is our biggest fear...

By the way, the image is nice. If anything it looks too clean, if that makes any sense. Too neat?

I've been called a lot of things, but never a "serious professional". I think I like it. :)

Republicans can have fun for sure, but let's have our priority straight eh?

I'm not trying to be pugnacious or anything, but who says we don't? We're here, not at the DUmp.

Cheer up. So far AI has missed every star. (except Kelly Clarkson)

Even if Anthony and (shudder) Carrie don't win, they'll have better careers than the winner.

Then why are you still posting on this thread?

And, why to you post on Anna Nicole Smith and Westminster Kennel Club threads?

God forbid. During the campaign of 2004, my son almost believed that J Effin's real name was John Kerry God Forbid.

Everyone needs balance in their life. Music is a gift - this is a show that I can watch with my son without having to cover his eyes (well, except during one of Jessica Sierra's performances - lol). He's learning about music and performances because we talk about it during and afterwards. Even my 84 y/o mom watches it, and it gives us one more thing to talk about.

You're right!

Clay and Diana were both better than Ruben and Fantasia.
But they got it right the first year with Kelly.
Justin "sideshow" Guarini just didn't have the "it" factor...come to think of it...he does look like a "softer" version of Corey Clark. Hummm....

That makes sense about the links instead of the actual drawings.

I'm always clicking on your name to see if you have a new one up.

I agree 1000%. I'm concerned that we will have to see that happen once again.
