You must have studied voice. I haven't heard anyone talk about head voice and chest voice since my daughter studied opera singing.

Great analyses from all three of you.

I propose that we sack the current judges and replace them with the three of you!

Well...

For what it's worth, here's the AOL poll results (as of 5pm edt). The "vote for the worst" crew have screwed up the results of an otherwise accurate prediction, but here goes:

Bo - 57%
Carrie - 35%
Anthony - 4%
Vonzell - 4%
Scott - 1%

I have a funny feeling that it may be Scott's time to go tonight. 1)The VFTW website was down last night. 2) I tried to call in and vote for Carrie about 100 times last night and didn't get through once. My friend voted for Bo and only got through 6 out of 300 trys.

Collier...I was born in Brooklyn but live upstate now.
BTW...how can we get rid of Hitlery in 06?? I was hoping for a Rudy run but it looks like he's not doing it.

While we wait for tonight's results show, I'm posting this for your entertainment.

In the meantime, over on the AI boards, yet another conspiracy theory is born. The following is copied verbatim:

From: vil4real, 4:58 pm
To: ALL, 1 of 47
Msg #: 498854.1

I think that Simon and or the Fox people, from day one, was determined to make this a White American Idol this year. God forbid three Black Idols in a role, regardless of talent. All the best Black singers were cut back to back. As much as me and my friends voted there is something very strange going on. And as good as Vonzell was last night (getting a standing ovation from Randy and Paula as well as the audience), Simon panned her? It it me or does it seem like Simon just don't like Vonzell? Me and my friends have noticed it week after week. The local news and radio stations DJs have noticed it. What is it Simon? Are you afraid she just might win? It seems to me and others that Simon is trying to make sure the blonde girl is the winner. He had his mind make up from the beginning, stating that she will sell more records than any Idol ever (pleazzzzzz). What a slap in the face for past Idol winners. And we all know that wouldn't happen anyway. Well, Simon, I wouldn't buy it and neither will my friends, everything she sings sounds country (there nothing wrong with country, except when it suppose to be Rythme and Blues). Scott sings better than she does. I would buy his CD before I purchased hers.

Have anyone noticed that there are no celebrity judges this year? I wonder why? Could it be that the audience listened to them, those that had music, producing and writing skills and experience instead of Simon? Well they made absolutely certain that it wouldn't happened this year. They made sure that the experienced artist that knew about music and singing would not be there to pursuade the audience to the RIGHT vote.

This is my last year watching this show. The best was last year. Me and all my friends agree that this year was the worst ever. You see where I'm from not only am I and my friends upset over AI this year, but so are the local news and radio stations. We all can't be wrong. Something is afoote, especially when Bo had a prior record for drug possession (w w w . t h e smoking g u n . com ) (without spaces when typing in U R L ) and still remained on the show when Frenchie and Corey Clark was cut for less than that. We are talking about Cocain and Marijuana charges. Come on AI you are making yourself look awefully prejudice. Not us.

Would I be allowed to perform Paula's special "coaching" with Carrie and Vonzelle? If so, count me in!

Vonzelle's Daddy probably provides her with seven-foot bodyguards...the kind that Michael Jackson has.

And Carrie...she can probably handle a gun like Annie Oakley.

I don't think too many guys have a chance to get near them.

On behalf of kevkrom, let me say that you're a killjoy, Palladin. [chuckle]

Hi, Wolfstar :) I agree with your comments 100%.

He just doesn't know how to take it from high school level to professional level.

LOL! You nailed it. There's always been something very "pep club" about Fedorov. Randy was exactly right when he compared him to a boy band.

Last night was NOT the time for Scott to get mouthy with Simon.

Amen. In his mind maybe Scott thinks he's defending himself, but to the rest of us he just looks like a jackass.

We should be heading for a Bo - Carrie final. If not, then I will finally begin to believe all those "vote for the worst" websites are having more of an influence that I presently suspect.

I think that group is generating it's own hype. If I'm not mistaken, their antics were first publicized on some blog--a blog that one of them probably created--and a few news sites like Drudge picked up the story. I firmly believe that Slingblade has made it this far mostly from sympathy votes. Sad thing is I doubt that he realizes it. Every time he mouths-off he lessens that sympathy.

I think their post is BS. First of all the black contestants have not been eliminated back to back, and second Hall and Oates were in the audience though they weren't judges.

I think AI is trying to vary the events year to year so that people can't anticipate what will happen. I do think the themes this year have been very lame and suck. I'd like to see more versatile themes. Perhaps a rock week, and a swing week (sorry Paula, that would be swing music, not swapping), you could have a country week, a rap week etc, but this 90's week followed by a 60's week, followed by a 70's dance tune week really goes nowhere and doesn't really challenge them at all, imho.

Simon at one time or another has claimed each was better than the others, one week its Carrie, another week its Bo. If Simon dislikes any of them I think it is Scott. Simon doesn't like overweight people, that was very obvious from the try outs.

I think you're right about Slingblade. Unfortunately, going strictly on last night's performances, he wasn't the worst overall. But who knows. Maybe the voters have finally gotten tired of him.

Mikalah had that I'm not going attitude, too.

I can't imagine how Scott deals with all the negative publicity. Can you imagine knowing there are articles bad mouthing you, websites voting for you because they think you are the worst even if during some weeks you aren't, talk shows bad mouthing you because they liked greaseball better? Judges showing favoritism. It would be pretty hard to be all smiles while knowing all the above. It might even make one a bit sullen, quiet and maybe even a bit defiant.

One of things they did last year was when the judges picked the songs that each of them had to do and I thought the judges made excellent choices and that that particular week was one of the best for showcasing the talents of all of the contestants.

I'm finding this year to be boring as opposed to lst year and last year I think Diana should have won. I think she was robbed but as we all know you don't have to win to come out ahead of the pack. That is perhaps the salvaging point of the whole show.

Is anyone going to bother watching the expose?

I think the themes this year have been terrible. No creativity at all this year.

I liked it when they had to pick from a particular artist, like Estefan (sp). It made it interesting and they all did well, too. Even ol' John Stevens. :) lol

I suspect that "vil4real" is a 13 year-old girl. The language has a middle-school ring to it: "Me and my friends", etc.

I do agree with he/she on one thing, though--the celebrity judges. I miss them. Most of them were DULL, but a few were surprisingly informative, like Quentin Tarantino and Gene Simmons. But there was no conspiracy to get rid of them. The celebrity judges are gone because Simon didn't like them. He never did. To him, they made "judging" seem trivial, and he has a point.

And finally:

We are talking about Cocain and Marijuana charges.

Notice that he/she misspells cocaine, but correctly spells marijuana. Hmmmmmmm.
