Great Movies I "Miracle"

This movie was my favourite from 2004

A "true" story of Herb Brooks gold medal winning formula and team that succeeded against all odds in the Lake Placid Winter Olympics.

From the start, where the movie uses old news reels from a time span of over 20 years, the movie reminds us that the world outside was just as relevant as inside our own personal space.

Kurt Russell is an exceptional choice as the coach who molds the players into a team.

Disney at its best.

Again!

Ok. I'll reply.

I haven't seen the movie, but on your recommendation, I will.

I'd recommend everyone to at least rent it, if not buy it.

This movie was ho-hum and rather formulaic. Would've been a good made-for-tv movie.

If you don't enjoy it, I'll send $50 to the charity of your choice.

"Would've been a good made-for-tv movie."

That's not a negative in my opinion.

The "big Screen" often regurgates big rubbish

I first saw it 2 weeks ago with my 11 year old daughter and 14 year old son. In addition to enjoying a great sports story, they quickly grasped the "malaise" of the Carter administration. When the movie finished, we had a great conversation about the Reagan years and his lasting legacy of freedom and hope.

If for no other reason than that - it is an excellent movie.
