Anybody in Tampa Bay Area just hear/feel a rumble..was it a sonic boom?

Just heard a loud rumble. Thought it was just my neighborhood in south St. Pete. Now getting calls from friends across town asking if we felt it.

Security breaches at a nuclear power plant and then large rumbling type explosions do not make for a good combination of events...

A friend just called that had read the Bay News story and said the same thing.

If another friend hadn't said he'd seen some planes I'd be wondering.

Funny thing is, my friend said it looked to him like the planes were doing a 180 turn.

Who knows, maybe they scrambled some jets from MacDill for security reasons.

Beautiful down that way also. The Skyway is (at least to me), the most beautiful bridge that I have ever seen. Lucky you. :0)

We like it. The bridge is pretty, but not close up right now...it needs a paint job, LOL.

We're close to Ft. Desoto, St. Pete Bch and Pass-a-grille, so even though we don't live on the water, we're only a few minutes from enjoying it.

Checking in from Oldsmar. The AO experienced a double sonic boom (more like a train...tornado). Freaked the First lady out. I heard it, but it didn't spook me. (OK, I have had larger stuff fired at me).

Gonzo, Leni, did you feel it? Guenever, DJ?

LOL! You're right it does need a paint job, but still I love it. You live in a great area. Are you a native Floridian?

Well that would make sense. It didn't feel like a sonic boom.

Hubby just said that the news said that the sonic booms could have caused the seismic readings.

That would be weird and the first time I've ever heard of that...and I'm a 6th generation Floridian, LOL.

earthquake! 2.7 is just a little rumble, a lot of people wouldn't even notice.

Maybe a Californian wouldn't notice, but if you're a Floridian you sure would, LOL!

Bay News is still reporting sonic booms confirmed by MacDill.

I didn't hear a thing in New Port Rickety.

If I had, I would have chalked it up to the guy who lives somewhere in my neighborhood who sporadically shoots off a small cannon.

Yep, I'm not kidding......a cannon.
