===============================================
FReepers, Blurblogger and I got to meet Captain Pierce at the KABC event on Wednesday night in Redondo Beach. He had recently joined the FReep on Hollywood.
The biggest round of applause during the evening was not for Sean Hannity. It was for Mike when he got up to ask a question and began by saying he was heading back to Iraq on Friday. Everyone in the theatre jumped to their feet and gave him a huge standing O. At the end of the night, he was called up on stage.
Mike, send us back some good news when you have the opportunity. You take care of the terrorist bastards over there; we will take care of the anti-American leftist bastards over here. Godspeed. It was an honor meeting you.
Blurblogger, very nice freep photos in Post 57!
I hope Capt. Pierce is doing well in Iraq.
I'm sorry I missed my pings to this topic.
But so glad I found it now!
And, it's so wonderful Capt. Pierce was able to be
on stage with Hannity!
"Good morning from the front!!"

Captain Mike Pierce, a new FReeper, is heading back to Iraq [e-mail from the front] ^ | March 29, 2005 | Socomofficer [Captain Mike, in IRAQ]

Here is an e-mail that I received last night from Captain Mike [US Army, Special Forces] -- who is reporting in, from the front lines in IRAQ:
Well, it's early morning here and we are headed east. We have taken some light casualties but for the most part we are combat effective. The young boy was waiting at the airport when we got back and took myself and my senior staff to his folks house for dinner.-- snip --I am seeing signs of a stabilizing electric grid and consumer goods are starting to come in. Of course I am certain that none of this is reaching you folks. The tangos are getting desperate and are running scared.
We are still subject to daily shellings from mortars and RPGs. However, organized attacks against American troops are down but they continue to kill the locals in large numbers and are targeting foreign reporters.
I hope you and yours are healthy and doing well.
Please forward this to the FREEPers.
Sincerely,
Socomofficer
Please show Captain Mike [and his men, who will soon be reading THIS THREAD]...
...that MANY of us who remain safely here in the USA......REALLY care about our troops in Iraq, and their dangerous [but vitally important] mission there.God Speed, Captain Mike!CLICK HERE for the rest of that thread
It's good to hear from you, and all the folks serving in Iraq. We pray for you all daily.
I was the guy on Oscar day who brought the big sign of our President with the troops, saying, "...AND THE WINNER IS - A FREE IRAQ!". It was a real bonus to see that sign on the Net after the Associated Press ran it.
Take heart in knowing that there are many old vets like myself as well as many other patriotic citizens, who just aren't going to stand idly by when war protesters work to undermine all your hard work and sacrfices. For me it's personal, very personal.
There is a painful growing awareness among those who work to tear down America at home that there is an overwhelming force for freedom working to preserve our own freedoms at home, while an overwhelming force works to share freedom with those in Iraq, etc. "Freedom is on the march," and you guys are doing the really, really, hard work. It's the least that we as Americans can do to stand up and say, "God Bless America, Land That I Love" to those who work to undermine America and her freedoms. It was the high point of my day at the Oscars, when Ted (dressed up as Uncle Sam) led us in that song in front of all our liberal Hollywood "friends." I think it made an impression on them. It certainly made an impression on me. Stay safe and well.
Sincerely, Ray
