I don't believe so. You are looking at average statistics of men's and women's physiques. I have not seen a picture of the female deputy. So I will hold judgement. But you are right that the perp was a big, scary dude. But in my experience, women can and do transport perps. But, again, no one ever transports alone. And, I work with some females who could kick my butt with their knowledge of hand-to-hand combat. I am 6'3", 210lbs. I would need to see a picture of the female deputy.

I work with female LEO that would more than likely would of had this guy ventilated in short order. The courtrooms I am familiar with are staffed with armed corrections deputies and I'm certain that after a few years of the same mundane routine, some get lackadaisical about how they approach court security. Sort of like how we go to false alarms time after time and right up until the time you walk into an in progress robbery at your peril. You get lazy, people die. Other skills, like weapon retention, will suffer due to laziness. I have a Safariland Level 3 holster and practice retention once a week with my partner for the last 15 years. Just my thoughts

Hell, dude, I'm 5'10" 203 and wear 33" waist pants. I could run her over, right to the point her bullet runs me over. Point is, even if the deputy was a man 6'10" 340lbs, if the perp is able to get the gun, the gun wins. End of story.
