OK I was thinking/seeing 657 when I read that (no coffee yet)....my bad. I don't like either the S&W autos or the ruger autos....so I can't honestly make a suggestion for either. Poor Choices IMHO......just my opinion of course. I don't / won't own one. I think they are unreliable and the ergonomics for me are poor. Just a personal preference. If I was working in reverse I'd start with the 1911A1, SIG 220, Browning High Power, A S&W revolver, Glock, H&K, Walther, Kahr if I was buying today....

LOL......I looked at the full sized one and the 4-6" ?? flavor of that beast the other day. I have a Ruger Bisley in .500 Linebaugh and enjoy it yet I'd be hard pressed to pull the trigger on that S&W 500........:o)

I can't get a good grip on the Beretta either, and as far as the .500 Smith is concerned, if I can't do it with a .44 or .45 I'm not sure I want to try.
I think quilla's husband has a .500 if you want to find out what it's like.

Hey, the .41 Mag is a "cult" thing, you learn the secret handshake and everything.

Having been in artillery, my bias runs towards 'bigger boom'.
I'd wanted to try my hand with an H&K USP .45, but it's grip was about the same size as the Beretta's.
If I could get something in that size range, I'd probably have to work on wrist strength to be able to hold it steady.
(Not something one usually has to worry about with rifles.)

6 lbs is a bit much for a handgun without wheels. I've found stuff in the 40-45 oz range very easy to deal with.

LOL....Theres an L in cu.... ???.....never mind.....:o)
... In Amarillo they made one of the biggest purchases of the S&W 41 Mags for the LEO's back in the late sixties or early seventies. Ya can't swing a dead cat here without hitting someone who owns a .41 Mag. Great javalina gun IMHO........secret handshake ?!?!? No decoder rings ?

Many folks hiking in the high country here in Colorado carry .41 Mags.

Nothing against the .41 Mag I just like the duality of loads that a 44 Mag or 357 gives a wheelgun user......

I think they were all 57's according to myth and leo lore.....
A 58 would be a find. Wasn't aware they made such a critter....never seen one.
Wonder of the 454 Casull can be chambered and used in a 25 ? Let a user have 45 Colt or the 454 for big and bad ???

I've seen a 58 at Petersons. It looks sorta like a Model 10 on steroids, with matte blue like a 28.

I have a P97DC in .45 ACP. I absolutely love it. Best balance I've ever seen on a .45 ACP. Buy it.
