The script was based directly on DNA's writings for the MOVIE.

It's not the script, it's the casting (and the cgi).

It is off-putting. I thought LOTR had the same look and feel as I saw in my mind's eye when reading the book, irrespective of deviations from the text. Same for the first (best) "Dune."

This preview tells me this is NOT DNA's THG.

Make Dent older (and more disheveled), Marvin more like an art-deco mechanical man, Zaphod with side-by-side heads and I might look into it.

The script is not the issue. The look and feel are. I won't be seeing this one (and I suspect most THG fans won't either).

Can you spell "B A T T L E F I E L D E A R T H"?

Seems pretty good. But it does seem to emphasize Trillian/Arthur (which wasn't in the book). And Marvin is all wrong. He should be a human sized plain robot. BTW- Marvin is the best.
