Thanks...I'm just so down about the idea that I won't be seeing them fly over! They won't even know how much I miss them! Will they even think of me, listening down here for their return?

They meant so much to me that night on September 11th...when they flew over...I was so grateful for them then and I still am.

I don't mean to be dramatic...but I simply can't imagine what families like TexKat's must be going through, if I grieve so much for these guys leaving that I barely know personally and only really know because they fly over my house...

Well since you're being dramatic...(teehee)... just keep in mind that their mission is absolutely vital. Think of how happy they make you flying overhead and know that they'll mean that much more to the soldiers on the ground in theater. They support the soldiers on the ground and the soldiers on the ground need all the help they can get.

I just found out last week that my nephew, Alexander, is flying Apache Longbows in Afghanistan! Last week, when that Chinook crash took place, my brother, Gerry, (the one who was interviewed in that article to which I pinged y'all yestereday) wrote an e-mail to all the sibs to let us know that Alexander was ok, that he wasn't involved in it. He had been on a Chinook earlier that week, going out on a mission to deliver supplies and help folks in a couple of outlying villages.

I knew that he'd been in Germany, and was going to be deployed, but I had thought he was going to Iraq, and didn't know exactly when. Gerry and Susan were pleased that he would be in Afghanistan because it seemed more 'peaceful' than Iraq. Of course the first night he was there, there was a rocket attack!
Please keep him in your prayers, as well.
