Now I hear the salesdroids at Comcast talking about how they're now promising to ramp up bandwidth nationwide to multi-megabit territory.

So...I should expect my rates to go up again?

Oh, probly so...

Though, I don't get the strategy. Bandwidth that's already at the 1 to 3Mbit point is pretty fast for most people already. And if it is only downstream, most folks wouldn't really be able do much with an extra 7 or 10Mbits. Still can't do 30fps video upstream, or host your own site if they're throttling upstream speed.

So... a web page that used to open in .5 seconds now opens in .3 secods. Yeehaw...
