Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Good morning. After all the working outside the last couple of days, I have very sore feet... not achy muscle sore, more like the soles are bruised... Bad shoe cushion maybe although I was wearing good hiking boots.
Anyway, they hurt on contact like the soles are bruised, but here's the weird part. The first couple of steps after I've been sitting are excrutiating, but it works out the more I walk. That doesn't sound like a bruise at all.

Maybe poor circulation? I remember I tied my running shoes too tight once and it made my soles numb, then very sore for a while. Whodah thunk.
Good morning!

Or keep going.... it hurts less and less the more I move around ;~D

Make sure you're drinking plenty of water.
But not too much. You wouldn't want to fall over...

True. But it will never actually heal if you do that.
You should at least soak your feet in hot water for a bit to get them to loosen up, doncha think?

I should buy some really good walkin' workin' outside shoes too. The ones I say are good are really cheapo ones I got at Value Village. I've wanted some good walking shoes for awhile. And maybe some of those gellin' things ;~D
To: HairOfTheDog
Good idea.
It makes a huge difference, believe me.
I finally spent $50.00 (albeit, grudgingly) on a pair of New Balance walking shoes. They quickly proved their worth when I strolled for miles through the County Fair.
My calves were killing me, but my feet didn't hurt at all. Just a bit swelled up from the heat.
My cool looking sneakers, on the other hand, would have had me limping around after about an hour.

Having gotten various sore foot ailments before I am a firm believer in paying good money for decent shoes. 10 dollar walmart jeans work just fine but there is no way I wear cheapo shoes anymore.
To: HairOfTheDog

These are the ones I got. The inside lining is almost like suede. VEY nice.

Yup. I agree.
I won't pay full price if I can help it though. I'll shop at Marshalls or Ross before I'll go to Foot Locker.
I've seen sneakers at the sporting goods stores that cost well over a hundred bucks! YIKES!
And they all look like alien footwear, if you ask me. All bubbles and weird colors.

See, part of my trouble is they have to be good slip on mud boots too. I do half my work outside in rubber boots that have the liners removed.
