Oh, nevermind... now I see the date. [rummaging for glasses]
So Bear, how many of us who posted on the first thread are still posting?
Ohh... heck. A friend of mine just took me outside to show me his spankin' new 05 Saleen GT Mustang. [sigh].
Dammit. It's just too pretty for words. Oh well...
Huh, better than I thought!
And I'm really amazed you can come up with that answer so quickly. Must be an adapatation of your old top-posts info
~sigh~
renting a suitable house for the same week at Nags Head is gonna cost $200-300 more.
we was offered 4th of July week. but that's the week Jr. leaves for Brazil...
Yep, I pulled up the old spreadsheet I had made listing the posters to the first thread, then I just scrolled it looking for names that I recognized. I might have missed one, but I don't think so. There were only 113 individual posters to that first thread.
Huh... do we have more than that these days? Even with the folks like Rocko who drop in once a thread to say hi, it seems like there are fewer of us.
I haven't done any real stats since about thread 7 or 8... I had to remember how to massage the files to get the info out of 'em; more detailed stats would take more time and effort than I can afford right now. ;)
It looks to me more like something that was left in the microwave too long.
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!
Goodness! I hope you get to feelin' better soon, Steve!
I have tinnitus too. At first it was this real pretty sound, like a quiet gong or tuning fork in there. Then I went to a German festival and the music was so loud (which I loved) that when I left my ear was going "EEEEEEEEEE" and has been for 6 years now! It's annoying, for sure. Do you have hearing loss in that ear too?
I still think you're a newbie!
;-)
Good morning everyone! Good to see you, Bear!
Went to the salvage yard yesterday, again. Same one with the weird guys. This time, though, a lady was there and when we walked in she said they were closed! I said "But it says you close in 30 minutes!" She said "Yeah, but I wanna go to a ball game."
Well, there were several things I wanted to get, but one thing in particular...a fresh air box for a guy on The Samba...he needed one and the only one he could find was a used one from an obsolete part catalog for $35. I had seen this one and offered to get it for him.
So I told the woman, "Look, all I need is an air box, I know right where it is, can I go get it real quick?" She said "Ok." Then I said "How much is it?" She said "Uh...I dunno...$10?" I had a $5 bill, but I just said "Fine, do you accept checks?" She was reluctant, but agreed.
So Steve and I hauled out there and got the air box out. It was a mess, but appeared in really good shape. So I went back to the office carrying it. Steve took the boys and got in the truck and I walked in the office and said "Look, I can write you a check, a good check, for $10 or I can give you this $5 bill right now." She said "Fine, I'll take the five!"
Heh heh!
Way to haggle!
It was the "Uh, I dunno" that gave me confidence.
Know your product. And if you don't know your product, either look it up or fake it.
Which she mighta done, except she wanted to go to the ball game! LOL I knew my chances for a five dollar air box were pretty good.
Gotta figger out this weekend what, if anything, we're gonna do for vacation. Brother's house always worked 'cause we got a significant discount. Sux especially 'cause we've been setting aside money to do the Disney thing next year with both boys. So, this summer would be the last summer to go before Jr. graduates (theoretically - it could happen).
Then, I've been working muh way through a book/program that would help me establish myself in a business and not have to be tied down here. The business principles are still good, but found out last night that if'n I want to be "fully" in the program, it would cost $7,000. If I had an extra $7,000 lying around, would I need the flippin' program? I don't think so.
Unlike usual, it's not all doom and gloom. Both of these news items are roughly 12-hours old and I just have to think them through.
We have the pool yard sale tomorrow. Thankfully, the weather is supposed to be good. I'm hopin' we can pull in a couple hunnert to go towards Jr's trip.
hehe nice
I went to the junkyard yesterday and they were closed... got to go over lunch some time. :P
You GO Girl!!
