DNS servers are a common problem... they can get bad data... they get corrupted by updates from downstream servers... and most of the time they are just hammered with too much traffic to respond in time.
Who's your ISP?
picked up a couple scrap steel plates... make good silhouette targets...
btw, is you is, or is you ain't comin' tuh ShootMoot?...
heh heh... heheheheheh... he said "fungled"...
I've committed... I'm comin'. I think I'm driving... just fer giggles.
I'm on hold with Comcast. The online support couldn't help.
Heh.
Mailed my extortions a while back...got some back, too.
Sent the rebate frap in for the Quick/Turbo pkg today tho. Maybe I'll see that before Christmas.
Heh, Comcast... fun...
Well, just figgered the last set of tax returns. Whew, don't owe or get back from PA... should get a nice little check from the IRS, though.
woohoo!... we'll have a good time even without Homely...
BTW... Comcast is famous for building out on the cheap (as if they all don't). Much of their network came from the old ATTBI network.
Ask Hair about DNS quality with ex-ATTBI equipment.
I'm fairly sure they do their primary DNS off of some old Toshiba laptop stuck in a dorm room somewhere.
I've always liked that phrase.
Okay, so Comcast says the problem is with the router and he gave me a Linksys 800#.
Right now I've got the router disconnected and I have no problem with the site.
So I've got an ethernet connection with a usb adapter going from the modem to the pc. And no connection to the router. Can I connect the ethernet cable from the router directly to the pc?
Thanks bro. I can always count on you to kick me when I'm down.
You can connect the PC to the router, your other computers will be able to talk to one another, but only the PC connected to the cable modem will have access to the Internet.
Hey, osage, how are you doing?
I got a question of no importance that I've been meaning to ask you.
I've noticed that my bow at full draw has a weight of 50 lbs., as advertised! But the draw weight decreases fairly dramatically if it is not fully drawn by even a few inches. I figure this is because there is c. 1 and 3/4 inches of string follow, what do you think?
In that case, making a bow with reflex or no string follow would solve that problem I suppose.
Funny thing happened last weekend when my old friend and I were shooting it. I fired an arrow at my target, but didn't notice that the arrow head (target point, 125 grains) was missing, must have fallen off somewhere (just wait 'til the lawnmower hits that!). Anyhow I missed the target entirely, but the arrow even without a point on it still stuck into the plywood backstop I have set up to keep the things out of my neighbor's yard. Shooting from about 30 - 35 yards.
Evening G'nad - yup, same here, the chaniclare pear and the redbuds are in bloom.
LSA's dad called to report that a wild turkey has been hanging out in their back yard.
"Now isn't that Convenient..:-)"
Connect your modem to your router, and the router to your computer.
You need to disconnect the modem and the router from the power supply. Then connect the modem, wait a few minutes and reconnect the router. After 3-5 minutes, if that doesn't work there is a small black, recessed button on the back of your router. Get a pen and press and hold it in for about 10 seconds for a hard reset. Then wait another 2-3 minutes before checking your internet connection.
Well, this is more bizarre than ever, I have started setting up a website, found here: http://home.mindspring.com/~brvc/
It's only in the beginning stages and won't stand up to much scrutiny, as I'm blindly feeling my way through the process of how to set it up. Anyhow, am kind of excited.
Meant to ping you to 6036
