The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I agree. I am ready to turn my anger on the likes of Greer and Felos. Told hubby last night I am having a worse problem not letting the hate take over than I did when Clinton was in office. Clinton, in comparison was just hopelessly aggravating. Greer and Felos cause such outrage in my, its affecting my mood.

I dont blame you....I seem to recall such sensitivity from liberals when the first stages of mourning of Sept 11. Such compassion from these people, right?!

Honey, that's a southron term. No doubt carried to Texas by many of the Virginians that settled your state...

Clare and I may be down your way this Nov. Ave Maria Univ. has an Open House for prospective students to come and stay for a couple of days. I could come over and see you! The Univ. is just Northeast of Naples, so that's what, 2 or 3 hours from you?

Naples is about 2 hours away, chica. Give me a heads up as to when you'll be there and we'll definitely get together!

I like the logo on the back idea, 300. It looks really cool that way, IMHO!

Good morning! It's a gorgeous, gorgeous day here. Going to be 63 today and 65 tomorrow, so I'm going to try to persuade friends that it's the perfect weekend to go hiking. It's a slightly less hectic weekend for all of us, with nothing immediately due...

I have a lot to do today but I'm gonna see if I can't persuade the Unix guys to put up a desktop that looks like Windows, or something ;-)

ROFL - well, Ah always did say Richmond was more sounthron than Texan. Had an uncle from Georgia (married to an Alabamian) who thought I had the strongest southron accent he had ever heard.

Your son is becoming quite the young man! He's grown up so much in the past year or two.

Love that bittygirl picture...she's such a cute little scamp!

Thank you! You know, the kiddos were sitting on the coffee table in my living room. It (the table) is covered with Bittygirl's blanket.

We have Easter pictures coming soon too. Elf-boy just got his school picture taken, in full Easter attire, yesterday. I already have bittygirl's picture, but have not scanned it yet.
