Since moving to MA in 1988, SSQ is on company #4. Went through all 4 without leaving his desk. He got stock options with each successive one, but not ONE has paid off! We're hoping with this one, the stock will at least go up past what the options were for (it dropped right after he got them, just as the other 3 companies' stock did). We're really praying for this one so we'll have a little extra to retire with!
We won't tell. ;o)
You scare me sometimes. :-P
Isn't suet sticky? Why couldn't you just sprinkle a little cayenne right on it?
I certainly hope not!
I'd hate to think you're trying to avoid me. *grin*
With all that time at your disposal, it'll take ~days~ to think it over, doncha think?
Clare and I are hoping to fly to Japan for a couple of weeks later in the summer, so that kind of cements our plans. We've decided not to even take a 'family' vacation because we want to have as much time as we can muster to work on the house. Clare and I being gone to Japan will mess that up a little bit, but Paul will be here in the evenings after work, so that will be a help.
I DO like the idea of a Grand Canyon Moot in 2008.
*sigh*
Any thoughts on 2006? :)
Maybe we can all go to Universal or sumthin'.
Understood. Some years ago I got, and haven't yet exercised, some options on company stock. But that was back when options were the hip thing to do. That was unfortunately back before Enron and Worldcom and all the Sarbanes-Oxley crap that companies have to deal with now.
This new thing I got is still a little flummoxing. It's being called "Stock units". A portion of them are vested now, but there is no transaction (that is... there is no current taxable event... yet). It just a promise to sell me a certain value in stock at some future date. Part of it I can exercise now if I want, and part of it I can only exercise after four years *if* I am still an employee.
It sounds like an "option" to me, but for some reason it isn't called that. Don't understand it, 'zactly.
Sorry you aren't making it there. :~\
If we go to the Grand Canyon, I want to do it by mule ;~D
...but given that the current price is almost 5x my strike price on those old options, I'm thinking about excersing. I can't think of a reason not to.
Maybe weeks. :-)
Mules may be safer than rafts, but I bet I'd be a lot worse for wear at the end of the trail. ~snicker~
Those are actual establishments on the Outer Banks. I am not making this up.
Just be glad I couldn't find the add for the foot long hot dog at the "Crabby Shack."
I may try that.
True! You should take some time off to decide how much time to take off to think it over.
The mind boggles!
I was over the weight limit in 1980 when I'd just graduated from college. We just won't talk about now.
If I'm getting to the bottom of the canyon, I've got to hike it or raft it.
...or fall out of a biplane...
You could always crash in a helicopter.
