The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

That's the only way to eat steak!

I was with someone one time who ordered it "well-done" and I nearly fainted.

I will never willingly eat spinach by itself.

Not even yummy creamed spinach??? Butter and cream and spinach, all thick and tasty???

I could eat spinach and green beans three times a day, and have extra green beans for snacks.

I adore spinach. I love turnip greens and mustards and collards, especially with ketchup on 'em. I can eat salads every other day, big crunchy green ones with tomatoes and olives and chow mein noodles and ranch dressing and ...

Oh, I'm gonna make my weiner risotto and creamed spinach this weekend!

Hi Rose! Nice to see you!

Spinach, greens, tomatoes = weeds. Give me meat. And maybe some stirfried peppers.

Y'all're soooo odd. Veggies are excellent!

There's a restaurant in San Antonio called Earl Abel's; it's a great place for chicken, but when I would go there for lunch I would quite often have cole slaw (with pineapple! Great!) and mashed potatoes and gravy (real, homemade cream gravy). I love my veggies, especially the green, (nearly) raw, crunchy ones!
