The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...
The Freeper Hobbit Hole ^

Posted on 03/05/2005 11:51:13 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And take the hidden paths that run...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yeah, plain straightforward English, with mathematical expressions where necessary, is sufficient for me. But not my professors.

It looks like today any time is a good time for a 'kilt posting'.

I'm really, really seriously stressed at this moment. FReepmailing you with a possible postal mail snafu - unrelated to the packages. GR! Sometimes I wonder why I ever bother trying to order things, since my name is on some global shipping blacklist. Seriesly.

From now on just order things under my name. The post office likes me ;-)

Whenever I see the mailman or lady, I hold the door and am polite. Life is much easier when you're civil to people doing things for you.

Heh...just might.

Seriesly, I've had some really weird problems sometimes. Like something shipped to me from SOUTHERN VERMONT ending up in CA. And a banjo that went from Nashville to Salt Lake City for a week before coming to me. And that's just two instances...

How... odd. I never have problems like that. Heck, I sometimes get packages from my sister in England in less time than seems humanly possible.

I'm thinking it's a good thing I shipped the packages to your name instead of to mine with the new address.

They'd have ended up in Zanzibar if I'd tried to send them to myself.

I just wish I knew what I'd DONE to tick off the global shipping mafia. I've always been a good girl, so far as I know!

It was those catalogs you had mailed to Hair...

*sniff*

Just said goodbye to my boss. He's not in the rest of the week.

I'm really gonna miss this department. Really good folks, for the most part.
