The Hobbit Hole XX - And take the hidden paths that run...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And take the hidden paths that run...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I know I went and sat with my parents when one or other was having something done, like when my dad had a heart cath or when my mom had surgery on her hand.

Hello Ruthy! Was just wondering how you were...just the other day during the Easter weekend. Hadn't seen you in a while, our paths weren't crossing!
Good to see you!

I put Margaret in charge o' tunes. Van already had a physical last week...we should be just about set! Probably pack stuff like beef jerky, nuts, carrot and celery sticks, apples...hm...dunno what else. We'll figure it out. Catch is that Margaret is working straight through 'til we leave, except Friday, when I'M working. So I gotta figure most stuff out on my own.

What kind of orchard?
I've always wanted a little plum tree orchard. Plum jelly is my favorite jelly and although dwarves don't need to know about such things, and I suspect Elves might know a bit too much, Rohirrim occasionally benefit from a prune or two!

I've been good, sis. Just haven't had much time to hang around in here lately. :-(
There are 21 payrolls due for today and several of them are very time-consuming, so I'd better get started if I want to get out of here by 6pm.
I'll be popping in and out all day.

i know what you mean...we're trying to finish up the school year...I think only about 4-5 more weeks to go! I'm not here as much as I used to be, either.
But I still find myself thinking about everyone. Wondering how they are!

Yes, the Pendemonium order came. I rather expect to get your boxes today, but you won't know until tomorrow since I won't be home before you leave.
You might consider getting a book you and Margaret would both like and taking turns driving and reading aloud. My family often does that on long car trips - in fact, a long trip home from Florida when I was eight introduced me to "The Hobbit" and the rest was history...

Prayers for Nana, Corin. That's a shame about the siblings.

Thanks for the prayers everyone.
Yes, it's a shame about the siblings. But it's not a surprise.

Of course not... it's a shame, but not a surprise.
How long is Nana going to be hospitalized to recover?

Toward the Thornbushses
The path with dreams once a moss covered garden drew me toward the thornbushes my memories of love were crumbling and cracked shallow now for by the fountain ruins my dearest rose of love kissed a lifeless, faded self where desire once harbored nothing but my eyes...

I can't read in the car. I get horribly ill. We may try getting some sort of book on tape - since she's coming back here, we could even check something out from the library.

How long is Nana going to be hospitalized to recover? We're really not sure. I'm sure there will be some rehab again. We just don't know how much.
She's got to stay until at least Saturday. I'm painting the bathroom on Friday.

Ah, shame... yes, if the library has books on tape, get them. I tried that coming out but the library on that end was pathetic!
