Rats. sorry.
There will be others!
Yeah, maybe so. He hasn't articulated it, but I think he may have realized that the football thing isn't going to happen.
However, I haven't brought this up, but we did relent and let him sign up to go back to Brazil. He'll be able to do his summer school online, so that's not an issue.
There's a lot of reasons we changed our minds. But last year's trip was a major growth time for him. We think this year could be as well.
Thanks...I feel so much...different now.
Not better. But different.
I understand. He'll never remember algebra in life. But he will remember Brazil.
Hope so. That one just seemed so perfect that I'm pretty upset that they didn't even consider me.
Gah...I hate this whole process! But I've applied for a few others, one of which sounds pretty close to what I've done over the years, so that might work out. And of course it'll be easier to search once I get there.
It's muh gift.
Yep. And I talked to the mom of one of the youth leaders that Jr. is really close to. She said he was much the same way. But he got his act together, spent a year on the mission field (in Brazil) and is now in seminary.
In some ways, I wish I'd had the guts to delay college. It might have saved me going through three majors and ending up with a degree that doesn't say I can do anything...
Man... sorry about that, Rosie. But just maybe there's something more perfect waiting for you.
I'll bet you it's because you're not local. The local hippy-types have a very strong "Fort Collins First" movement as far as stoes go, and maybe it's rubbed off on the hirer-ers...
I'm gonna try to change my address today, so you can start having things forwarded here.
Maybe it's just as well...and to an extent, I'm wondering if I should hold off doing much more searching until after I relocate. If someone DOES want to interview me in the next few weeks, it'll be rather awkward.
And after all...since we're sharing expenses, if absolute worse comes to worst, I can get a job at Wal-mart or the mall or something until I find the right job...
I'll feel better about all of this once I know how much I'll have from the closing, but I'll know that soon enough!
Was a little unnerving changing my tagline this morning - no more 20s! When it hits the single digits, I can really start panicking...
Right. There's a lot of service-y jobs within walking distance, you can always get something while you get on your feet. But I think you'll find something suited to you once you get out here.
Yeah, I imagine I won't have too much trouble finding something once I can easily get to interviews and also check more local job listings.
On the flipside...I wonder how much of a discount you get for working for Barnes & Noble? Hmmm... ;-)
Oh, yeah, check that out....
Man, I envy you your dental insurance. Bet you have eye insurance too. I've got decent health coverage but no frills and I'm aware that it's just a matter of time before I need new glasses.
No eye insurance...but at least I have the dental! I just hope they don't hassle me over it since I'm so close to done here. As long as the appointment happened while I was working, I don't think they can, but...
I'm positive they can't do that. I got tooth-work done the week before I moved because I knew I'd be without insurance and nobody cared...
You shouldn't get any grief from the insurance company. You're still employed, you're still insured.
You should also check with your HR folks. Your coverage may last a little longer. If you're still working in may, it is possible that the premiums would be paid and you'd be covered for the rest of that month.
Plus, and this can get spendy. In most situations you can work with your employer to continue paying the premiums for up to 18 months after you leave. I've done it a couple of times. I'm pretty sure that's federal law.
The insurance company cares less about you working than they do about getting the premiums.
It's worth looking into.
Good point. In my case, I was covered until the school insurance took over. But ouch,it costs so much and I get a lot less.
I believe my coverage only lasts until my final day of employment
I'm thinking of getting some sort of basic emergency coverage, just in case I end up getting in a car accident on the way to CO or something...
1) Don't think like that.
2) That's what you have auto insurance for.
It should cover anything accident related.
