LOL! Mr. Tough-guy and Chickadees. :) I saw some Chickadees here looking at houses. Slow realestate in my yard. No takers. That must have been great fun to watch them nesting.

They do pick the strangest nesting places. My mother had robins in a wreath on her front door one year. We used the back door until they fledged. :)

With all the showers, the bluebonnets are in full bloom!

They've spread quite nicely in the couple of years we've been here, but they have a way to go before they are at the carpet of blue stage.

Some folks probably don't realize it (I know I didn't until recently :)bluebonnets don't really grow in the 'single seed single stalk' pattern like a lot of annuals do.

If the conditions are right, each seed actually forms a small bush with multiple flower heads!

(Just a side note to y'all. I may not be getting in much FReep time after this weekend, and I don't want you to think I'm ignoring you! :)
Reality has finally smacked my brother-in-law upside the head, and he's leaving that thing he married. We're letting him stay here, and guess who volunteered to watch his little 'uns while he works? LOL! Man! It's been 9 years since I've changed a diaper or fed a baby...:)

Mr. Tough-guy and Chickadees

Interesting fact about Chickadees is that they are in the same bird family as Blue Jays. I'd never guess that for many reasons ranging from behavior to appearance.
