They've spread quite nicely in the couple of years we've been here, but they have a way to go before they are at the carpet of blue stage.
Some folks probably don't realize it (I know I didn't until recently :)bluebonnets don't really grow in the 'single seed single stalk' pattern like a lot of annuals do.
If the conditions are right, each seed actually forms a small bush with multiple flower heads!

Reality has finally smacked my brother-in-law upside the head, and he's leaving that thing he married. We're letting him stay here, and guess who volunteered to watch his little 'uns while he works? LOL! Man! It's been 9 years since I've changed a diaper or fed a baby...:)
Nice BB shots. I see ppl parked on the freeway shoulders here risking their lives to pose in front of them and it astonishes me. They're pleasing aesthetically but not worth getting plowed over by a Hummer.LOL
