Stewed Roadkill Chicken Feet recipe

1 lb roadkill chicken feet
salt and pepper
1/4 cp cooking oil
1 medium onion chopped
1 stalk celery chooped
1` medium green bell pepper chopped 2 1/2 cups warm waater

Scrape and peel scales from chicken feet, wash thoroughly, drain. Sprinkle chick feet with salt and pepper. Heat oil in mediium pot. Add onions, celery, and bell pepper to hot oil and stir fry over mediuim heat about 2 minutes untill onions are clear. Add roadkill chicken feet and water, cover and boil gently 30 to 45 minutes until chicken feet are tender, and a medium-thick yellowish gravy has formed. Add extra salt and pepper to taste. Serve over grits or rice, and don't hesitate to pick up the feet so you can such every bit of goodness from the bones.

ArGee, I think the only way you can HOPE to salvage the evening is to stop on your way home, pick up a bottle of VERY (as in "obviously") fine wine, take it home and have a little boudoir wine-tasting session. Then admit to her that it just has to be some ethereal quality that makes *this* woman better than a bottle of fine wine.
