In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
Subbie Slip has her whip, handcuffs and legcuffs today.
The rest of the stuff is locked up in my drawer. Im just letting all the new students know that we behave as if we were ladies and gentlemen in here. Those two words as if can get you an A if you make the subbie laugh.

Yikes!!!!!!!!
Good grief..............the wind here is absolutely wicked - but the sun is shining at least a little bit.
that is just not RIGHT!!!!
People are so dang gullible.
The owner of my company is an idiot.
i very nearly hit a DEER last night, coming back from xsboy's hockey practice. literally, i missed him by no more than a second. We saw him jump out, i slammed on teh breaks and i nearly grazed this little tail with my left front bumper. it was scary as all get out. This road has deer crossing signs posted all over. it is only two lanes and winding and dark at night, but busy and well-travelled nonetheless. i was actually surprised that the deer made it the entire way across and wasn't hit by someone in the oncoming lane. i have seen deer on the side of this road previously and ALWAYS worry about them jumping out in front of me. and damn if one didn't last night. scary.
Very scary. Other than the highway the road you were on last night perfectly describes ALL the roads I travel, so I know exactly what you went through last night.
Glad everyone is OK.
thanks. in other news, xsbrownie came home yesterday and said that her classmate, patrick, was saying that BUSH CHEATED and admitted to it. i said tell patrick that your mom says he is full of crap. xshub said, tell patrick, Bush won, get over it, time to moveon.org!
Hub hit a flock of deer once in the ambulance......claims it was a flock 'cause they were all flying when he last saw them. RME About eight in all, not sure in the excitement the exact number he directly hit or how many were secondary hits from hitting the first ones. One had to be put down on the roadway, the rest were walking wounded who left the scene.
Since my last encounter with a deer in the road at night would have been fatal for me but for a roll bar and the fact that God was apparently not ready for me yet, xs' deer story made me shiver. They are all over the place here too, except on the highway-we all drive at a crawl in fear of deer-and hubby had one commit suicide on his car on the way from work after he had come to a complete stop-it did nearly $2000 worth of damage. Our insurance agent told me that people living in this area have at least one auto/deer collision per year on the average.
46 and light rain here-I'm not happy about it, but I would not to be where ti is right now with all that snow...
be careful when hitting teh breaks. i always hit the brakes.
That is heart-breaking. I know people who have had the same horrible thing occur in their families. I am loving the safety cover on our pool this year. It keeps me from going out there and skimming leaves 3 times a day or fishing out voles and moles.
ROFL!!!!!!!!!!
You right wing lunatic fringe parents are indoctrinating that child and it is only going to do her harm when she gets out into the real world.............
And I'm the queen of England!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a nearly 90 degree curve in the road where our field meets the creek.......one day last week the dog was giong crazy barking and when I looked out I saw these 4 HUGE deer coming across the field on the other side of the road.......it wasn't until they cleared my property and were in the woods did I realize I was holding my breath watching them cross the road.
No one slows down on that curve and I had visions of a chicken truck come flying through at that precise moment.......one did come through about 3 minutes later.
LMAO! Good for you-I hope she does tell that kid off-his parents are obviously 'rat voters.
oh i know they are, and they know we are Bushies. It is amazing that the class of 9 and 10s is so politicized!
Heck yes! ;)
Sounds like my kind of store!
