It is not Sprint. It is a very small (approx 300 subscriber) service that has transmitters mounted on some local cell towers. They broadcast radio to the subscriber and we all have rcvr/xmtrs. Been using it for about a year and a half.

I believe Sprint drop their WiFi service and are concentrating on their 3G services at the moment. But like the article states. They will most likely offer a new Wireless service in a year or so. Whether its using WiMAX or not is yet to be seen. Verizon is also entering the Wireless Broadband market under the name of Verizon Wireless Avenue. So the Big boys are getting involved now.
