This is the complete Email from Eva Savage’s (mother of Marine Jeremiah Savage, killed in Iraq) that I recently received. I had never seen it in entirety before. I don’t know if it was ever posted, so I checked with others and Jim Robinson about putting it up. He suggested I do so and provide links for verification, which are noted below. If it was on before,I apologize. But, it is worth repeating. Good “ammunition” to use when faced with those who would degrade the efforts of our military.

“I don't know how many of you have heard about a movement that is sweeping the country with boots with the names of our fallen heros attatched. It is called, “Eyes Wide Open.”

I feel it is time that Their eyes be made to open wide. The following is my response to the news of this display. Right now it is in Texas, Lord help them if they come to Tennessee!!!

I will not allow people of this world to take my son's death and turn it and twist it to suit their own greedy and malicious purposes.

My name is EVA SAVAGE I am a UNITED STATES MARINE! MOM and DAMN proud of it and Proud of my SON! Jeremiah was killed in action in Ramadi, Iraq on May 12, 2004. People would have you believe that we hold President Bush responsible for my son's death.

LET ME CLEAR THIS UP RIGHT NOW.
The people placing these boots have not spoken to me EVER so they cannot profess to know how I feel. I am afraid that they would not like what I have to tell them which is why they would never contact me. In my opinion (which is my right to have since I live in the United States) They are COWARDS, who thrive on the lives of others, by twisting the truth and rewriting it to suit their own agenda. It is time that each and every person stand up and be counted. I used to be afraid to say what I thought for the way someone would think of me. NOT ANY MORE.

Lance Corporal Jeremiah Edward Savage was a UNITED STATES MARINE. He was not drafted. He was not forced to join the Marine Corps. He chose to join. HE VOLUNTEERED. Jeremiah was born to be a MARINE. He was called to be a Marine from the very beginning. You see it takes a special person, someone with a ! sense of HONOR, DUTY, COMMITMENT, and COURAGE to be a member of the ARMED FORCES. MY son believed in his mission, in his duty to protect the way of life that ALL AMERICANS enjoy. That a FEW Americans take for granted and would have you believe that our Military Hero's have died in Vain.

LET ME MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR

MY SON DID NOT DIE IN VAIN. THE ONLY WAY THAT THAT WOULD BE TRUE IS IF YOU BELIEVE THE PEOPLE LIKE, OH, JUST TO GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE, MICHAEL MOORE. HE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ME. OTHERS LIKE HIM DO NOT SPEAK FOR ME!!!!

My son died for everyone’s right to use the First Amendment to say freely what they like. What a great country we live in. My son died protecting my right to today and that I have the same right to speak freely. So I exercise my right to speak out. Certain people would have us believe that the boots are a tribute to the lost lives of our Soldiers in Operation Iraq Freedom, that it is! a statement against war and for peace. Let me tell you what I see.

I see HEROES who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we can continue to be free.... They believed in their mission, they support their Commander and Chief, they support this great country even though there are ones here that believe that to show this display is a tribute to them! They are not afraid to stand their ground. Not afraid to say enough is enough and we will not back down to the terrorist. Not afraid to cry with a mother, a wife when they meet with them.

I see HONOR, DUTY, COMMITMENT, COURAGE. I SEE SEMPER FIDELIS (ALWAYS FAITHFUL)

I will continue to speak out against closed minded Cowards. You do not walk in my shoes you do not know what I feel or think. Until you have stood where I stand do not put words into my mouth. I have a voice and it is About DAMN TIME that I stop being silent. You don't like what I have to say. OH WELL, that is your right.

Just don't tell me to SIT DOWN or SHUT UP because MY SON Died giving me the right to speak and speak LOUD!

I will not allow his name or even his picture to be disgraced. I will not allow a pair of boots to symbolize his life that he gave for HIS COUNTRY, HIS BROTHERS, HIS FAMILY!

He was more than a pair of BOOTS!!!! HE WAS MY SON. AN HONORABLE MARINE WHO BELIEVED IN HIS MISSION! HIS LAST WORDS TO ME WAS I STILL HAVE A JOB TO DO! HE FOUGHT TO THE END TO REMAIN WITH HIS BROTHERS IN THE MARINE CORPS EVEN TO HIS DEATH!!!!! I will turn the ugly work of COWARDS to GOOD just as GOD take all things and turns them to Good for HIS GLORY.

SO I tell you WE HAVE BEEN SILENT LONG ENOUGH.

AMERICA- ONE NATION UNDER GOD INDIVISIBLE. You either LOVE IT, DEFEND IT or RUN TAIL and GET THE HELL OUT!

BE WARNED ONCE A MARINE ALWAYS A MARINE AND THAT INCLUDES THE FAMILY OF A MARINE! MESS WITH ONE AND YOU MESS WITH THEM ALL! REMOVE MY SON'S NAME FROM THE DISPLAY OF BOOTS! YOUR TIME AND EFFORT COULD BE USED HELPING THE FAMILIES INSTEAD OF INSULTING THEM!
