Next we get the flaming duo......
For those who missed the show, teams finished in this order:
1. Rob and Amber
2. Brian and Greg
3. Uchenna and Joyce
4. Ron and Kelly
5. Lynn and Alex
6. Ray and Deana
7. Meredith and Gretch
8. Susan and Patrick, ELIMINATED
At this point, IMO, teams 1 - 5 have proven their mettle and any one of them could win this thing. So we're down to the point where it gets really interesting. As I recall jriemers fine-tuned statistical probabilities, teams 1-5 are right where they should be.
Women may be the determining factor. OF Kelly, Amber, and Joyce, Joyce seems the weakest, so that might factor in. However, Kim of TAR winners Chip and Kim (why do I think of them as Kip and Chim?) was not athletic either, so who knows?
Last night, there was a real scramble for first, with Romber taking it in stellar fashion, but not by much, and luck played a very large part in their win. As a matter of fact, Rob remarked with a big grin, "I was born with a lucky horseshoe up my ass." We'll see how his luck holds when those ominous Yields come along.
Was Rob a Kerry voter? Hard to imagine. He was quoted in an article, commenting on how other teams wanted to take them down, "Bring them on!" Doesn't sound too DemonRatish to me. Maybe looking at the tax rates on his and Amber's Survivor winnings showed him the light.
The best editing came when we saw Meredith and Gretch driving along appreciating how hard a young street juggler was working for his money and Gretch saying, "God bless him." And then we saw Susan and Patrick encounter a street clown trying to earn a buck too. They showed their compassion and concern in typical liberal fashion. What is that clown doing? Patrick asks. I dont know, but hes in my way, Susan says, honking her horn. If theres ever a time you wanted permission to run over a clown, Patrick added, with a curl of the lip. Even the TAR crew detested these jerks!
And next week, we get TWO HOURS of TAR. What could be better? The preview showed Gretch taking a bad fall and bleeding profusely from the head. But head wounds do bleed profusely and often look much worse than they are, so I'm not counting her out til I see them eliminated.
The preview also showed the Bros rolling their vehicle. They have, as "dead" suggested earlier on this thread, pretty much shaken the Santa Monica fog out of their heads and are now looking really strong. Rob can outwit them every time, but they can probably do better in any physical challenge if they overcome their auto wreck next week. Did you know that one of the bros was on Fear Factor? (Rumor.) Didn't win, but still, that shows a lot of cojones if the rumor is true.
The Flaming Duo is actually doing a good job of racing, so I am not rooting against them at this point, though I would not miss them. I root against obnoxious people who moan and complain and do not get the job done. Ray has fallen into that category. Susan and Patrick were the worst, and they're gone GONE GONE!!! Huzzah to that!
More about this at post #302, above on this thread.
I can easily imagine that the car's of team umbilical are festooned with kerry bumper stickers.
I guess I am just tired of hearing team flaming rail on against the romber and amber. As you said earlier, I suspect there is some craving on their part towards the romber's bod.
I have it recorded and will watch tonight but glad to hear that Team Umbilical is Gone, gone, GONE! Yay!!!
Festooned! Yes, festive son would festoon liberally.
The one few times that the weather didn't interrupt programming here was when the clown incident took place....I had been rooting against the mother and son all along, but after that I really hoped they would be eliminated last night. My first thought was what jerks.
I was actually surprised that they showed us the Umbilical jerks being so nasty, but I suspect they were so very obnoxious, the TAR producers were fed up with them too.
Agree, it was good to see the whining fag get the boot. I hope the gay pair go next, but they have some fight in them, like the gay couple from the first TAR. I wish they would quit calling each other honey and saying beotch, lithping all the while.
Be grateful they are just showing them hugging when they get to the pitstops.
Even CBS knows that America will stop watching when the gay couples start tonguing each other.
EEEEWWWWWW!
Exactly!
I know what you mean. I was purely disgusted when they showed them huddled so close in the cab with no hands showing! My 9 yr. old wanted to watch the show with me last night and I wouldn't let her just because I'm not sure what they might show.
You should tell the producers exactly what you told us. If enough people comment, maybe they will get the picture that we do not want the gay agenda shoved down our throats, so to speak.
I believe I will..although I'm sure they will believe I am just one of those red states intolerant right wing fanatics. In which case they would be right. :)
My skin still crawls when I think of Reichen and Chip each calling the other honey.
They received a lot of help from the airline by holding the plane. They arrived with 3-5 minutes to spare before departure and *presto* they were still allowed to board. That ain't real-world travelling.
"In Mexico City, Derek & Drew found a flight to London via Miami and were the first Team to depart, followed by Aaron & Arianne and Michael & Kathy. The two lagging Teams had a small difficulty in Miami, having only 40 minutes to transfer planes for an international flight on which they didn't have their seat assignments. They were initially told that they didn't have any space left on the flight. The airline managed to upgrade them to business class (though the Teams didn't have to pay for it) to get them on the flight." CBS TAR3 Leg 3
Yeah, I couldn't believe when Rob and Amber got on the plane... wonder if someone pulled some strings? The execs have this choreographed to some extent, if they want Rob and Amber to stay in... I mean, don't you ever wonder if the elimination legs are really predetermined? Sometimes they seem to be awfully convenient for certain teams.
I like the brothers. They're kind of cute, actually, once they stop being idiots. And Uchena and Joyce, I was impressed with how well they treated each other.
Can one of you buffs help me remember; when teams have switched Detours before, have they been able to just sort of jump from one to the other? Or did they have to go back to the start? I was sure they were going to get a penalty for that, but no.
