Okay, this is a "friend of a friend" story, but I have it on very good authority that this is true, otherwise I wouldn't post it here.
Said friend is a firefighter for the Jacksonville Fire Department in Jacksonville, FL, but during the races at Daytona some of them are sent down there to help out.
Sometimes while there, during breaks they get from ebing on duty, they get their firefighter jackets signed by the drivers, etc.
Saturday morning before the Busch race, the CAPTAIN of her squad approached Tony Stewart and asked him to autograph his jacket.
His initial response was to make a comment to the effect of "Nice to see your out there doing your f**ing job, instead of hanging around asking for autographs" (meanwhile, there is no race even going on at the time and he was on break from duty which they don't get much of)
So however the verbal exchange happened, Tony Stewart took the marker and went to "sign" the back of the Captain's jacket. He noticed him writing more than what seemed like an autograph would be, and Tony handed the marker back. Said something like "All set, pal" or whatever.
When the guy looked at the back of his jacket, Tony Stewart had written the words "F**K STICK" on his jacket.. his FIREFIGHTING jacket.
He went to NASCAR officials and they "buried the incident" was the story I got.. (looking for more details asd to what actually happened there)
I believe that he will be taking pictures of the jacket and sending them to Home Depot with an explanation of the incident. I hope he does. I would spread it around to as many people as I could. That's what the internet is for. (I am working on getting them to send me the picture, too)
I CANNOT, for the life of, me fathom how if you were so fortunate as to be a famous and rich Nextel cup driver, how much of an arrogant prick you would have to be to do something like that!
Hey Tony: This might be the guy that has to save your worthless life when your car catches fire. Ever think of that? Ever think he would probably do it anyway despite you having no respect for anyone but yourself?
Every time he goes into the wall from now on I will be cheering. Karma will catch up to you!! You don't have many friends out there on the track anymore, Tony! The wall is a lot closer than it looks!!
What a sad way to represent Home Depot,I hope that company realizes that.

Interesting, if true. I can't imagine someone in that bright of a public spotlight being so trace-ably stupid.
Post updates to this if you're able to verify it. I'm withholding judgement until then.
(Although I've always thought Stewart a jerk, this story needs verification! Regardless, I was glad when his dumb ass got pushed back in the pack in the final 10 laps!!)
I will post updates if/as I am able.
The good friend who told me about this has never lied to me once in many years I have known him.
So I personally believe that it is true, however I can understand your hesitation since you don't know me from adam. I am trying to get more details that might shed more light.
Didn't het get sent to anger management classes for slapping a female fan not too long ago?

IMHO, this thread shouldn't have been authored without an accompanying pic. Whereas there was no way anyone had evidence of Eason Jordan's remarks in Switzerland beyond multiple varied earwitness accounts -- thus causing the demand for video of the event to be released -- the captain doubtless either has or knows of someone with a digital camera that would make posting the alleged vulgar autograph easy as pie.
Check my last reply. What say you, if anything?
Stewart is a bit of a jackass to start with- but I'd HATE to believe he really said and did these things.
Keep us posted- if true he's in DEEP trouble with his sponsors and fans...
I'm sorry but I don't think it's right to post second-third hand information which in effect is rumor.
I've seen things happen here on FR posted that were not true (rumor) and people for months post it as truth without checking the facts.
I would never post a story like this about anyone without proof.
Tony Stewart can be a butt-head at times, but this is even beyond him unless there is much more to this story.
I don't blame anyone for being skeptical. I have asked for them to send me a digital picture of the jacket.
Personally, I believe the story because of the source. Somebody I trust who has not much interest it Nascar and who has no vested interest way.
I am a Ryan Newman fan anyway, so could care less about Tony.

I'll be waiting for more info, please keep Me informed on the situation.
If this is for real then FReepers may be required to do what is needed and get TS canned fron HD sponsorship.
This has been passed this on to Dave Despain@SpeedChannel requesting more input.

I am waiting for info on why the firefighters think they can troll for autographs. TS may have been wrong for writing that. Yet why not hold the firefighter to the same standard?
I am truly sorry but I don't believe a word of it. First of all, Tony has better things to do than ruin his career by doing such a thing. Also, I know him and he would never treat anybody in such a manner, even if he was angry. Tony loves his fans! This is just not something Tony would say or do. It's sounds to me like your friend wanted a good story to tell.
