~The Dragon Flies' Lair~Thread XVIII~
February 21, 2005 | bentfeather ~Poets of the Lair~

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Good evening ms. feather!
Are you hoping and praying Spring will poke her nose around the corner any day now? LOL!
I'm sure you're probably sick of snow, aren't ya?

He he he! Happy Birthday ~ and thank you for NOT finishing the limmerick!

You can't finish that limerick on this forum. Not even in the Smoky Backroom. :)

You're welcome.

There once was a man from Chappaqua or was it Chappaquidick?

No. It works better with Nantucket. You have to ask Star. She knows the limerick apparently.

What are doing here???? This not Themeless Thursday??

Someone once told me you wrote poetry. I told them they were wrong because you have to be smart enough to do that.

They assured me that you were and even gave me a link to prove it. I told them they were full of it, but followed the link in pure curiosity in order to prove them wrong.

Unfortunately, they were right. You're pretty good at this poetry writing.

I like the poem. Great job.

Happy Birthday, dear writer33!!!

Thanks, Gramma. I appreciate it.

Of course, if you would've been on the Canteen last night, you would've known it was my birthday today. But that's typical of you.

:) Hehe!
