I understand that some people MUST share private information to others to sort of elevate themselves by showing that they have inside information,

There. You nailed it exactly. Wead has now received his 15 minutes of fame and will receive the proper reward of living the rest of his life in infamy.

It is hard to trust people after they've violated a confidence. I've never understood people who can't keep a secret but it's probably as you stated...their need to elevate their status.

I'm just as glad for the president that he's out of the country as this time. He values loyalty above all else and this must be very disturbing to him.

Kennedy had a HI IQ, Carter has a PHD, the Clintons are the most intellegent couple ever to live in the whitehouse, but all the Republican Presidents are dunderheads. Amazaing, isn't it?

Good Morning Everyone. Overslept this AM.

Good morning.

Yes, it is amazing...but not surprising.

How's the weather up your way? We have a forecast of 82 today.

Uncle Duke was based on HST, but that was before Gerry Trudeau became a complete leftwing nut. Some of the Doonesbury strips from the 70s based on Duke rank with "Bloom County" in its heyday. Actually, Trudeau was a harbinger for the ungluing of the left today. When Reagan was elected, he became less funny and more partisan. Today, his work is nothing but liberal venom. Pure Michael Moore hatred.

It's 60 degrees on the patio and the sun is shining. It's supposed to get up to 70 degrees today then drop the rest of the week into the 60s. Time to cut my roses back.

Hillary: insurgency in Iraq is failing Okay....what's she up to??

I think we ALL know that, don't we Molly?

What a devious hardcore politician she is. It will be up to US to make sure the American people know how anti-military her "co-Presidency" was.

I think some report said that George W's IQ was about 110, didn't it?

That was the phony study that had all the Dems with high IQ's and all the Republicans (except the wily Nixon) with low ones.

But JFK at 119? That's pretty low, IMO........ I'd put Teddy's at about 98. :o)

#41..What bothers me the most...from what I've heard...is he might have won the confidence of Bush because of his 'evangelical roots'...

..and that's the worse betrayal of all...

...but President Bush is a strong Christian now...(he might have been a newer Christian then)...

..and Bush will deal with this, and come out better.

However, God almighty will deal with Wead.

What does it profit a man to gain the world, and lose his soul....

The thing is, Guennie, that it doesn't sound like W said anything incriminating at all. If you read his words, he's the same man in those conversations as he is now (though I agree that he has grown much in Christ over the past four years).

He's pro-life, he won't bash gays because he knows we're all sinners, he thinks algor's a liar (well, duhhhhh), and he says that in his campaign he's going to say that Christ changed his life because He DID.

Wead has destroyed his own reputation as a Christian, and any trust anyone might ever have in him to what end?? ...... None. He loses all around.

Oh I totally agree with you....

I'm saying the same thing.....President Bush is who he says he is. Period.

But Wead.....is a snake in the grass!

It makes you wonder why he did it.

I said this on another thread, but..........pro-Bush people won't buy his book because he betrayed his 'friend' by making those tapes, and that makes him a creep.

Bush haters won't buy his book because all it reveals is that the President is a good guy through and through.

If he's being greedy, he's also being stupid for letting those tapes out.

I went to Bethel, at the new campus in Arden Hills. My two older sisters went to the old campus, also on Snelling if I remember right. Did you frequent the Flameburger?

We had a big storm blow through here and just got our electricity back after about 90 minutes in the dark. The trampoline was blown from the back yard to the front and has a leg which will have to be welded back on. Three boards are missing from the corner of the fence so I'll have to fix that or the goats will be wandering out.

Unfortunately I feel the drop in R rated movies might also be attributed to lower standards in the ratings. Mr. hb has walked out of the two movies attended a few years ago and he is no prude. I have only seen one Harry Potter, with d and gd, in last 5 years.

Johnny Raitt used to sing at our church, Pasadena Presbyterian, in the 40's. He was wonderful, not a part of the choir but hired in for special occasions.

I would have to agree with the ratings standards going down.

I'd put Teddy's at about 98.

That would seem very close to the actual figure.

Teddy never learns from experience. Teddy trashed Jimmy Carter in his attempt to win the 1980 Democratic primaries. Iran had our hostages, the interest rates were near 15 percent, inflation was near 20, and unemployment was in double digits. Carter had all that on his back, yet Teddy's attacks on Carter coupled with almost universal media support could not win the Democratic nomination.

Teddy never learned that when there are problems the voters want problems fixed.. not people trashed. Teddy should have noticed he was doing something wrong when Jimmy Carter boasted he could kick Teddy's rear end and.. then did it.

Teddy tried the same tactics against President Bush in the days leading up to the Iraqi election. He urged Kerry to attack during the fall campaign. Teddy did not even remember that Nixon in 1972 won the second biggest presidential election victory in the 20th century on the back of NAM. The Press tells us there is a Kennedy dynasty, yet Democratic Candidate after Democratic candidate distanced themselves from the Kennedy family in election after election. LBJ did not play up to Teddy or Bobby in 1964. It is revealing that in 1964 LBJ got more votes in New York than Bobby Kennedy.

In my opinion JFK never had a day when he could out think LBJ. Bobby never had one either. JFK was not doing so well in the polls in November of 1963. He was in trouble in Florida, Ohio and Texas. I am not sure JFK would have been reelected in '64.

Had JFK not been killed, the Republican field may not have been left to Goldwater. After Dallas, many in the Republican party looked on the 1964 Republican nomination as a job for a sacrificial lamb.

That was not the case before Kennedy was killed. It would have been a lot more contested Repubican primary in 1964 had JFK lived to run again. The Kennedys have always engaged in Boston style polictics. It never plays well outside the big cities. It does not work in the heartland.
