Cold again last night.
Fur plumped up like a chicken
Waiting for the fox.
Sliding under blankets
Tight and smooth. Warm all around.
They won't find me here!
Big dumb dog is tired.
Busy from playing all day.
Great place for a nap!
On the window ledge
Watching the squirrels and birds play.
Claws can't scratch through glass!
Stretched out in the tall grass.
Ears up. Green eyes all but closed.
Intruders, beware!
This domain is mine!
Poachers from another yard
Will soon feel my wrath!
Hate the dry white wet!
Falls so silent from the clouds.
Belying its danger.
