welcome to the information age.
Actually that feature has been there for a very long time! I've used that many times especially to trace down "annonymous" callers.
Reminds me of that scene in "The Jerk" when Steve Martin gets his name in the phone book...
Been using them for years. Don't even know where my phone book is anymore.
old news
My phone number shows someone else at a different address. Double checked, no typo.
Must have been the last guy to have this number, I'm unlisted.
Relax. Anybody who's really wanted a map to your home has been able to get it for years. I have my address unlisted (even though my phone number is listed) to discourage casual look-ups, but since I own my home, the property transfer and mortgage history with address is available to anyone willing to pay a couple of dollars and type my name into Lexis-Nexis.
Hey, just become a REAL new-millenniumer and ditch your land line for a cell phone. No long distance charges, no convoluted "local calling area" plans, no bulky old receivers clogging up your house, and best of all -- it goes wherever you go!
I haven't had a land line in five years. I've saved a ton of money and made life much more efficient.
The reason it's relevant to this thread: Cell phone numbers aren't listed -- in Google or anywhere else.
