That's so brave of those birds! When I was young, we had a cat and the Catbirds would do that. I was always so nervous that she would get one. I don't know if she ever did but I'm glad I never saw it.

My cat has brought us one of their young once or twice,still alive and we tried to nurse it but it died after a few days.
The Jays seem to be very protective of their young especially when they first come out of the nest and can't fly so well.
We had Black birds at our old house that would dive bomb every living thing in site,I tell you that was annoying and it hurt,because they would actually make contact with your head.LOL
