I had bird feeders for years before I ever saw one. Now I have two pairs and a little Nuthatch called a Red-breasted. He's much smaller, size of Chickadee. That one flies right by my head and face, as if to be doing it on purpose, back and forth to the feeder. Funny little guy!

Well,I better get some new bird feeders to attract more species of birds.
I haven't had a bird feeder for the last few years, because it takes time to fill them and I haven't had it.Now that my kids are older they can help out, since they are more responsible now to not forget to check the feeders.
This is going to be my project for this year.
I have grapes and filberts in my back yard, that seem to attract birds, but not nearly as much or many different species you have in your yards with feeders.

Last winter I had a nuthatch that was a bully:) He was so funny to watch, because he would come down the tree that the feeder hung from. If there was another bird on it he would puff up, and you could tell by his mouth action that he was really scolding. The other bird would leave he'd jump over get himself something then leave. He would never share the feeder with other birds.
