I know what you mean about the Goldfinch. They're so brightly colored in the summer, I wondered how I missed them. Cheeky little birds.
I've noticed the titmice, chickadees, and nuthatches, come to the feeders get a seed then take off to eat it. The goldfinch land on the feeders and just stay:)
It's also cool how much they change color with the seasons.

It's strange, I never noticed those bright little birds before.
My husband makes fun of me and the birds, relentlessly. It was really funny when the Gold Finches started coming. He said, wow is that some kind of parakeet? He couldn't believe the changing of colors. Now every once in a while, he says, come here, Look! what bird is that? LOL. He still makes fun of me though, but that's his job :)
