I want to hear some good ideas...

Posted on 02/11/2005 10:04:15 AM PST by AnnAdoringFan

This is my first post here. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. As you can tell by my handle, I'm a huge Ann Coulter fan. :-)

I've actually been checking out the site for a while... ever since a friend mentioned for about the third time. I finally decided to get registered today (slow day at work...).

Anyway, here's the topic:

I am really psyched up about the idea of partially privatizing social security. in fact, I wish it'd been done years ago. and I want it to be to a higher percent. so I wrote to both my senators and my congressman about it.

what other ideas are out there that could help improve our country???

I want to hear them... anybody have ideas??

one of my favorites...

make tax day and election day one and the same. maybe make it a national holiday... call it Good Citizenship Day or something.

the point is, right now, tax day is about as far from election day as it can get. but do you think people would vote differently if they had to turn in their taxes at the polls, just before they go pull the lever?

I also think that turning in your tax forms at the polls would encourage more people to vote... they'd BE there already anyway.

If you are for real, in time, you WILL live here.... LOL.

well, maybe I'll just go back to lurking. If I'm going to take time to visit a "discussion board", I don't feel that I have to take a bunch of crap for wanting to discuss.

We're a lot more cynical than we are able to express.

oh, reading through the replies reminds me of another favorite of mine... get rid of government subsidies to big industries! (actually, I think I read that Bush's new budget proposal does this with big farming companies, for example). Also could do with airlines, milk and meat producers, etc.

Right. I think we should stop taxing them, giving them handouts, trying to control every aspect of the actions......
Freedom is the key. Some companies won't make it and some will succeed (making some wealthy - GASP) but all in all we'll end up with a better economy, cheaper and better products, and increased innovation.

Here is a good idea:

Disband or deport the ACLU.

Don't be impatient. We've had a rash of trolls joining lately, so anyone who signs up and immediately posts a "vanity" (i.e., personal opinion, no story attached) thread, rather than just commenting on existing threads, is going to be suspect and draw a lot of attention.

Assuming you're legit (and I prefer benefit of the doubt, myself), just let it wash over you.
