This is my first post here. I wanted to say hello and introduce myself. As you can tell by my handle, I'm a huge Ann Coulter fan. :-)
I've actually been checking out the site for a while... ever since a friend mentioned for about the third time. I finally decided to get registered today (slow day at work...).
Anyway, here's the topic:
I am really psyched up about the idea of partially privatizing social security. in fact, I wish it'd been done years ago. and I want it to be to a higher percent. so I wrote to both my senators and my congressman about it.
what other ideas are out there that could help improve our country???
I want to hear them... anybody have ideas??
one of my favorites...
make tax day and election day one and the same. maybe make it a national holiday... call it Good Citizenship Day or something.
the point is, right now, tax day is about as far from election day as it can get. but do you think people would vote differently if they had to turn in their taxes at the polls, just before they go pull the lever?
I also think that turning in your tax forms at the polls would encourage more people to vote... they'd BE there already anyway.

End withholding. It was instituted during WWII to get the government a constant stream of money to fund the war effort. It was supposed to go away when the war ended. It didn't.
You want to see a true tax revolution in America? End withholding and make everyone file quarterly and WRITE A CHECK for what they owe.

hahaa....that would definatly make people think a little harder on who they vote for as they pull the lever and write out a check for taxes at the same time.

Eliminate income and payroll taxes altogether and replace with a national retail sales tax (see HR 25 and SB 25 for current proposals).

I believe FDR originally proposed HALF of contributions to be stewarded by the individual. The liberals seem to have a selective memory.
